why do people not up vote or post on my decks?

I am fairly new to this site and it seems as though I cannot get help or suggestions for my deck by deck cycling. Any other way to get suggestions or criticism?

There's an article about this on my profile page.

Here's some help.

It is simply a combination of different variables. Color combination, title, format, timing, etc. all factor into getting eyes viewing your deck. Posting a thread in the Deck Help forum usually works fine, but I personally view it as a last resort. Don't forget to specify what you need help with. Help us help you.

Before I say anything, check Epochalyptik's article. I'll try not to repeat its major points. There's also the Deck Help thread, but please don't spam it. That being said...

Boring titles, mostly. A deck name like "Boros Aggro" or "Azorius Control" will get approximately zero attention. Humorous and otherwise creative deck names will get you attention. People who are amused by a witty description and/or title will be far more willing to take 5 or 10 seconds to at least throw a +1 your way. If they're intrigued by the build, they'll probably take even more time to comment and even make a suggestion. So, be clever, but don't try too hard either.

In return, you need to go around the site and check out other folks' decks. If you're new to the site, this will help people recognize who you are and make them more likely to come by your profile page to see your decks. Leave some comments, even if it's just "Nice deck!" Please do NOT leave comments like, "Nice dude, hey check out MY deck [ link ]." That's annoying to people and it's rude to clutter somebody's deck page with advertisements for your own decks. Only leave a comment with a compliment, suggestion, question, or constructing criticism concerning their build. Again, the more you do this, the more your name will be known, and you'll find that your decks will receive a bit more notice.

Once you've posted a successful deck or two, you might gain a small following. If you're known for posting clever decks, you might make a couple of friends who will follow you. They'll be notified when you build new decks and they might feel prompted to check out your new stuff. Also, you can tag people by commenting on your own deck (I do it all the time with my friends). They'll be notified that they were mentioned and will often find your way to your deck page.

That's pretty much what I've got as far as advice. Good luck, dude.

Cool. It's my Abzan syn deck. It's almost sliver like. Almost. And if you want to that's what I changed its name to.

Your deck link.

For future reference, just copy/paste your deck's URL into this formula (minus all the spaces):

  • [ text ] ( your deck URL here )

There are 3 different types of decks people like to see.

1) Joke decks. Don't post these.

2) Budget decks. Most of the people here are kitchen table casuals, students, low income adults, or married men that have their wives prevent them from buying $600 for a few cards.

3) Unique decks. Something never done before, a new combo, new tribal ... etc.

As for some of the other things that grant you more upvotes, creative deck names, a catchy opening sentence for when you feature your deck, superior descriptions, and being upgraded. My decks are really good examples.
