What hubs to choose

I usually create abstract/cruel decks that don't really fit into very many categories. I was wondering if anyone could provide a list of what the non-tribal ones mean. i understand orzhov, gruul, and similar ones, its ones like "affinity" or similar named hubs that confuse me.

Affinity would reffer to a specific deck that uses artifacts, many with the key word affinity, to do a very large amount of damage at incredible speeds. This deck is used mostly in eternal formats currently (as there is no affinty on any artifacts in standard) and is known for being able to play its entire hand on turn 1. If you don't understand a hub name, try googling it with mtg appended to see if it is referring to a particular type of deck. Anyways, hopes that helps.

so my question under this would be... why aren't there more hubs... i think there should be one for each card ability I.E. trample hub, deathtouch hub, or a beasts hub... who adds these!

I kind of disagree with that. The abillty deathtouch or trample does not necessarily define a deck.

Hello, Hub Admin here.

Currently there are a lot of different types for the hubs. There are the basic color hubs and deck types: Gruul, Mono-Blue, Control, etc. And there are also specific tier 1 meta decks for each sanctioned format: Cruel Control, Affinity, BUG Landstill, etc. Some hubs e.g. Merfolk, are a tribe, but are there because it is a meta deck.

Some are currently being used, some aren't and some are being used incorrectly; however, I currently can't change hubs due to permissions being wacky.

For your deck I would suggest: Golgari, Aggro, and Control.

That may not seem like many hubs, but it is not unnatural that a rogue deck wouldn't fit in any others.

If you would like to suggest any hubs just leave some feedback.
