Wait... we have STATS??

TappedOut forum

So, I literally forgot about this whole "stats" thing on our profile pages. I have a few questions about them now that I am looking at it all.

Here is my user page.

So here are the following questions:

  • Finished Decks / Prototype Decks are fairly obvious. For anyone wondering how in the absolute heck I have 370 finished decks and another 285 prototype decks... well, I get super bored and I have ADHD. I work in factory settings and have been doing so for the past 7+ years. I absolutely love the environment and the labor-intensive work. I absolutely enjoy building tooling, fixing the machines, and turning raw product into a consumable. That being said, it's also a very physically demanding job but a very "mental sleep mode" kind of job. So I spend my mental energy doing all kinds of things - Working out finances, coming up with D&D ideas, designing new tooling, trouble-shooting problems, and yes making MTG decks. I come home, build it, and if it works I finish it and keep it saved for later use. If not, I scrap the idea and it collects dust. So, three years later I have some 600 decks on here, lmao. (And that's nothing; I use to work out and balance a full 20 levels of character stats for D&D Homebrew Classes in a single day.)

  • Drafts: 0? I don't understand. What's this?

  • Points: 7,257? What does this refer to? Is it redeemable? OwO

  • Average Deck Rating? 3.12?? Ha. Oh wait, you're serious. Let me laugh harder. HAHAHAHA --- seriously, effectively none of my decks ever get upvoted or even commented on. So, where does this value come from?

  • T/O Rank: 3...? Like... on the whole site? Like the WHOLE site? What? How?? Why??

  • Helper Rank: 22. Aww. I do enjoy helping, even if I am misguided at times <3

  • Suppressed formats: Are these the formats I don't build in? Because there are a few that I do use? Well... Standard, I guess?

  • Good Card Suggestions: 43. Kewl. People liked my ideas.

So like, I don't know. I guess I just am curious as to some of these like how I am ranked #3 on the site and #22 as a helper and stuff. Or how I have an average deck rating of 3.12 when almost none of my decks get upvoted and if they do it's like by one person? And finally what are "7,257" points all about?

I did some playing around to get you some better answers:

  • Average Deck rating is the average of upvotes on public viewable decks. TappedOut's math seems a bit off--for fun, I did the calculation by hand, and my actual average was .25 higher than my score.

  • The overall ranking system seems to be based on activity; there have been cases where people have had a flurry of activity, quickly shooting them to the top. I think it is a bit of a flawed system--there are often times when trolls make the top 10 list.

  • Suppressed formats are formats you do not want to see--for example, if you suppress "Standard", Standard decks will not show on your homepage.

You get points for activity on this site and helping the site out in some ways. Note that inactivity will reset this to zero.

Drafts is the number of drafts simulations you have done.

T/O rank is your place of all users on this in regards to the number of points you have.

Suppressed Formats are the formats you selected in the settings menu to not view on the feeds.

A deck's score is only included to the average score if someone has voted on it in the first place, I believe it has to be another person making the vote and not yourself.

Ah that old meme, used to be the regular greeting on this site and common post on anything related to points in this forum.

Avg. Deck Rating - With 7 decks currently, each upvote adds about .1429 to my avg. deck rating. 7 upvotes raises it by 1.

T/O Rank - Total Posts in the last 3-4 months or so in relation to all other users.

Helper Rank - Total accepted card suggestions in the last 3-4 months or so in relation to all other users.
