Replace Gatherer

TappedOut forum

I think TappedOut should make a card library where users can comment and discuss specific cards exactly like used to happen on Gatherer! Its a dream... I really do miss being able to just go read about cards and learn combos or tricks about them that I didn't know before.

And make even more work for yeaGO? Sorry but I don't think that will much happen.

Card pages have recent discussion. I don't think open comments on a card page seems very useful but I could be wrong.

Yeah, but recent discussion is also when the card is just mentioned in some random deck. That isn't helpful at all. I agree with OP. Gathere doesn't support it anymore which is a shame. It's both fun and helpful to read through the comments on cards.

I'd sooner want a way to rip Gatherer rulings and integrate them into the Q&A than a way to comment on card pages. The forums are plenty sufficient for comments.

Could also revisit the idea of the combo database.

Yeah, what ever happened to the combo database?

What ever happened to the combo database? Well ...

  1. Too much work.
  2. Too much work to quality control.
  3. No one was ever able to come together to define what should go in and what shouldn't.
  4. A fair few people weren't able to separate Synergy with Combo well enough.
  5. The database ended up being nothing but Island + Mountain as everyone used it for things other than combos.

It could probably be regulated by the community if a little flag was added for review if someone in the community noticed it clearly wasn't a combo. That way the non combos would just get slowly weeded out.

It's better to just put proposed combos to review in the first place.
