Really stuck on formatting my username

Hi all I'm trying to change my user name and have been using http://tappedout.net/mtg-articles/2014/jul/16/how-handle-handles/ and http://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/coding/getting-a-custom-font-to-show-everywhere/?page=1#c2208019 as a source to try and learn how to change it.

I've tried so many combinations but other than a color change nothing seems to work.

[ #FFFFFF; text-shadow: #88DDFF 10px; font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', cursive; , font-weight: 800; ]

I've tried Using these fonts; https://www.dafont.com/k26argento.font https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Sedgwick+Ave

but with them not working I tried switching to a websafe one; http://www.angelfire.com/fl5/html-tutorial/fontlist.htm

Changing colour is simple enough but how do I check my font syntax? or just what am i doing wrong? Is there a way to use fonts that aren't on the web safe list?
