Problems with tappedout

TappedOut forum

Posted on Sept. 13, 2017, 5:33 p.m. by The_Squirrel

I've been having the following two issues with the site for the past month or so. Is anyone experiencing the same? Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix them? I've tried clearing cookies/cache and restarting my pc to no avail.

If this should be in a different forum, please tell me where to put it.

  1. This happens 50% of the time when I click "save" or "save and continue" on the edit deck screen. The page spends about 30 seconds trying to load, then the standard "tappedout is down for routine maintenance" message appears. If I reload the page, sometimes the same thing happens. Sometimes it takes me to the deck(if save was clicked) or edit screen. Either way the changes were saved.

  2. On a deck screen, if I +/- a card, the card quantity sometimes doesn't change. If the browser is refreshed, "there was a problem with that action" error message is displayed. Then the page is refreshed, the change is not reflected.

I've confirmed that issue #1 is also occuring in Edge.

I also get this error sometimes in all browsers tested.

"Last update: This collection has changed since you began editing it. Discard your current changes and view the updated version or hit save again to override the updated version with your current changes. "

Has anyone run into any of these issues? Anyone have ideas how to possibly fix them?

I love tapped out but this is making the site tedious and difficult to use.

@The_Squirrel you're not alone. I'm running into the exact same issue on Firefox. It seems intermittent, however. Sometimes I can update fine, other times the prompt appears.

This continues to be a problem for me as well.

It makes Tappedout unusable, I'm probably going to have to move to another site if it keeps up.

Thats so weird. I haven't see that Thopter page in many months. I have at least 1 Tappedout screen open adjusting decks and checking out other ppls brews about 8+ hours a day. Using Firefox. I may or may not be deckbuilding at work. Okay I am. I do think its still the best one. Goldfish is pretty good too though.

Issue number one is something I experience quite often, usually after I try to edit a deck a second time on the same session being logged in, let's say 5 mins apart. Usually I click the back button and click save again.... do this a few times and suddenly it works again. It's weird, but somehow I got used to do this.

Thanks PartyJ. I'll try that. Seems like a descent work around. These issues have been around for quite some time. Its frustrating that they seemingly don't work on fixing them.

yeaGO and his team work hard to fix problems, so I am confident that it will be solved one day. I believe he fixes bugs alone and probabaly still enjoys some social time ;-) We just have to be patient. I can handle it, knowing that T/O still rocks :-)

Thanks. The thopters page while editing has been an annoying one for sure, but i have been monitoring it. I would say that often times the change you made has actually been saved, so please double check that. Still, I'm collecting information about this one to prevent it from happening at all.

Thanks yeaGO. Its nice to hear from someone who works on the site. Do you have any information on the +/- issue?

I just tinkered around with it and it is definitely working better for me. I'll post in here again if it acts up.

Dug into this a little more. In a lot of these cases, I think the update was being blocked because the deck's charts/data were in the middle of regenerating. Optimized regeneration, as well as made a more friendly error when you do get this message to let you know to wait a few seconds for the regeneration task to clear.

Please feel free to follow up if you experience problems related to this change.

It does seem to be fixed for me! Thanks so much yeaGO. I'll respond to this if I see the error again.

yeaGO, I spoke too soon. The +/- issue is still occuring, just not as often. The site is working much more smoothly for me though.

It is still occurring for me as well, but it works better.

Usually I can make a handful of changes before it stops working.

Happens every 2 out of 3 times, two months later, what's more you have to scroll all the way down the screen to save again, could we at least get an option in the error message to save again right there.
