New Users Migration Incoming?

TappedOut forum

Mtgsalvation is shutting their site down on 7/8/19 and I foresee this sites population growing a lot. The site mods there are saying that they're in the process of putting a new site up independently but are not providing any details at all. It honestly feels like they're just buying time just in case that works out.

I like new minds and new ideas but deckcycles and the list rotating out happen fast enough already especially during peak times. I'd love to see this site implement individualized tabs for different formats (i.e. we get the 10 newest deckcycles for modern, edh, standard, etc. as independent lists) and/or more slots on these tabs so deckcycles don't go by quite as fast.

I really love that idea. I know we can suppress formats, and I have suppressed quite a few, but I only like to look at modern and standard every so often so I can keep up on some of the things going on. I mostly want to see edh.

I suppress a lot of formats myself, but that actually shortens the list lol. Granted if you changed this around a bit so it doesn't shorten the list but instead shows the full 12 or whatever it is... it's a roundabout way to accomplish my first idea lol. I.e. suppress everything but standard, then change it to suppress everything but edh, etc.

They might also yeet over to Archidekt, a competitor to this site that for some reason has ads here? Might want to check on that.

After reading the comments and the article it sounds like the mods and site manager are pretty hopeful their new project will take over where MTGS will leave off. If we do see a wave of new users I don’t personally believe it will be the majority of that community.

Another thing to consider is people double-dipping, that is to say some folks with MTGS accounts may already be users here.

Also I’d love to see some cycling changes of some sort. Maybe make hubs easier to access from the homepage? Decks cycle off the homepage pretty quickly but can stick in their hub for quite a while, depending on the hub of course.

DwaginFodder: Of all the competitors to this site, that is one I haven't heard of. There's three other sites that they would probably go to first that I see others (streamers, peeps in discord channels etc) use instead.

I'll miss a lot of the primers on that site. Specifically Solrune's Marchesa. There's several years worth of card discussion, ideas, and lists to sift through (1663 posts lol). It's a very constructive group that's kept the primer going strong without the OP really being around anymore and no updated list to speak of.

So I've heard. I'm super happy about that. There's a lot of good resources there that've taken years and countless discussions to build.

Ty for bringing it up though, I'd only heard it from 1 person.
