New Feature: Generate Sealed Decks

TappedOut forum

Hello all,

I'd just like to announce that you may now generate Sealed decks on TappedOut.

As always, keep the feedback coming.

It's not showing the card art when you hover over the card text on the screen where you choose which cards are Main and Side. I'd allow the picture to appear in some way, since no one has every card memorized.

Also, it seems odd to have an Acquire option under this feature.

Otherwise, looks cool! I can't wait to play around with it.

I would like a way to impose order on the chaos that is your pile of cards. Sorting by rarity or by color or both at least would be really helpful on that initial screen where you first see what was in the packs you have opened. Heck even an initial color wheel might be nice to see.

My grand idea for this space. Off to the right in all that blank area break the cards up into different sections, each divided by a line. Then have each section be a single color, with cards broken out in sub sections between creatures, and other spells. This would be a huge help to see what you have at a glance. Also within the sub parts of that section maybe have the cards sorted by rarity.

Oh and since i forgot to include it in the previous post thanks for the awesome new feature!!

One quick question though where is the area to access that feature, once i dismiss the announcement off the front page?

@ Green

Added the card art. Good eye. The editor it brings you to isn't actually exclusive to Sealed. I'm working on a more general editor where people can edit only their board.

@ Deckbuilder --

Yeah, the editor needs work. I think your suggestions are right-on to what I'm scoring for. Basically a more interactive way of editing your board. Sorting, etc.

You can browse to the set or you can click on MTG Decks and you'll see a link there. I'm working on organizing this stuff a little better.

Some Drag+Drop functionality and the already mentioned sort functions would be an awesome feature for building your draft/ sealed decks.

Wow yeah if it was drag and drop and the cards with pictures just showed up the various areas on the right by color as described above... that would be super phone friendly. And it would probably be really easy to sort the deck.

Having options to sort, especially by color, would be awesome.

Also, after 20+ sealed decks using only SoM packs I still have not opened a Skinrender. The chances of not seeing that card out of 360+ possible uncommons are pretty damn slim. I wonder if any other cards are not showing up.

thanks for putting it up, its great even without the sorting

Thanks for the sort function, that looks very useful. What I don't like is that you have to click on "Save and Continue" every time you change the sort order, or the categorization (main, side, maybe...) will be reseted.

I am not getting any Uncommons when I do a sealed deck. Is this happening to anyone else?

So I was messing around with my U-Tron deck, and I suddenly thought of this:

What do you guys think?

April 26, 2015 8:46 p.m.

Sure, why not, I mean this is a great Game 2 card after you dump your hand.

It's a little OP I think since you get to control them first

April 26, 2015 8:50 p.m.

True. But that's part of the politics plan: if you mess them up too much, they'll mess you up as much as possible too. This was aimed for multiplayer.

April 26, 2015 8:50 p.m.

Goody Hahahaha really? I guess I would think that it's more in their favor, since they can backstab you, and you can't do the same to them. But I see what you mean.

funny for commander, and on a Eye of the Storm or Hivemind id be REALLY funny!

Card is arguably mono-black, not red or blue. Only three cards have this effect (taking someone else's turn); one is an artifact and two are black.

April 26, 2015 11:45 p.m.

erabel I was thinking blue for the controlling aspect and red for the gambling aspect, but now that you mention it, it does seem to fit more flack. Maybe Rakdos colors?

Black/red would be a bit closer, but I think it'd be gold rather than hybrid. I don't think mono red should get this effect.

April 26, 2015 11:50 p.m.

Mono red should get this effect. There are tons of chaos cards in red, and even though this is a little different, I still think it works.
