So, we have sim drafts, cube drafts, decklists, and playtesting... Could the programming not be improved to include the ability to play vs others rather that using an outside source?

I think if you were to do this it would definately increase the fan base and activity on the Tappedout site overall. I'm not a programmer or anything, just curious to see either if it can happen or why not.

To my knowledge, one of the reasons this isn't done is so that we don't attract Wizards of the Coasts' wrath and get shut down like Cockatrice. Basically, we don't want them to think that this is an MTGO replacement.

As above. We don't want to attract the ire of wizards.

as above.

WOTC would hunt us Salem Witch Trials status

The site would be infringing on the money making aspect of Wizards intelectual property. They only start caring when money is involved.

Yep. Then they'd give us the boot. As soon as they saw dollar signs escaping them, they would come in and try to squish us.

And no one wants that. We like TappedOut as is. As in, alive.

I am in accord with that.

Well, they could theoretically care even if money is not involved. Because this site generates revenue in the form of ads and user purchases, they have at least the foundation for IP suits.

But yeah, the reason we don't support PVP in playtesters or post-draft is that 1) it's hard to code and 2) it would be much more likely to attract legal attention.

Well, I guess that puts the kaibosh on that idea then... No harm in trying I suppose.

Does anybody know why untap.in hasn't gotten WOTC's attention yet? I feel like it is used the exact same way Cockatrice was.

Its all in the ".in" part. Its hard doing lawsuits across countries.

That makes sense, thanks.
