How do you add a Companion slot to a Standard deck?

Exactly what the question asks. If you add a creature that has companion to your deck using the deckbuilder, how do you format it to its own slot and not as one of the creatures "in" the deck?

It dosen't have it's own slot like a commander. It is just one of your sideboard cards.

then how do you explain this? See what they did with Lutri, the Great Companion?

They just made a custom category. If you look you will see a dropdown menu that says custom on it. (the default is 'type'). Technically though it should be in their sideboard (unless they are playing it in their maindeck)

The companion card goes in the sideboard, but people are putting it in the Commander column for the deck list to better show that it's the companion of the deck and to show the companion card. Can place a companion card next to your Commander in the deck list by putting the CMDR tag after it.

1x Zirda, the Dawnwaker *CMDR*

Doing it this way the companion card will not show in the deck list in the creature column. When playtesting the companion card will be in the Command Zone just like the Commander is.
