Draft bots

Just being curious here, but how do the draft bots work behind the scenes? Are there set pick-values for each card or dynamic ones? Do they force colors? Is it some proprietary data system or just a bunch of low-wage slaves in a basement? ;)

I understand if you can't/don't want to answer but hell, it's worth asking :)

When you're looking at a card - either clicking on it and going to its page here, or highlighting it in the draft screen - there's a statistic that says "Average Draft Pick." This is the average point at which this card has been chosed (so a card with 1.75 gets picked on average on pick 1 or 2; a card with 10.78 usually gets picked between 10 and 11).

Draft bots pick according to these numbers. I don't think there's any considerations made for colors they've already picked or anything; it's purely a "take the better card" sort of routine.

So they first go by Average Draft Pick (which is data gathered from all human picks sitewide, I gather?) then at some point down the line, color takes precedence?
