Death and Taxes not a hub?

Title basically says it. Why isn't Death and Taxes a hub? It has been an established deck in legacy and modern for some time. If 8 Rack and Hatebears get a hub so should Death and Taxes in my personal opinion.

If there is a reason though feel free to tell me and I will shut up :D

Isn't 'Death & Taxes' essentially just a Mono-White version of Hatebears?

Nope. The concept is similar but the lists and execution are very different. Beyond which the best D&T lists can be mono white or have a splash (typically G/W or B/W). So to describe it as a monowhite version of hatebears is inaccurate. Beyond which I think Death and Taxes precedes Hatebears in conception but I could be wrong (D&T has been a Legacy thing for a LONG time; I don't know when hatebears first came to be).

Barring a convincing counterargument, I'll add this in a few hours

I think it was always just assumed that it was a hub.

I know I always assumed that.

I did as well. However I recently decided to make a modern D&T list myself with a red splash to see how it went and was surprised to find it not an option.

In any case awesome Epochalyptik. :D

What this debate really boils down to is the fact that Modern has Hatebears, and Legacy has D&T, because Legacy has Mother of Runes , among other non-bear / non-hate cards. From the outside, it's pretty much the same deck conceptually, so I can understand why people get it confused and / or are content with just a hatebears hub, however as the OP pointed out, there's a pretty obvious difference noted when piloting the decks, and both hubs should exist regardless.

To be fair there is a modern D&T list as well. But in modern Hatebears and D&T are fairly similar in modern but there are key differences. The main ones being D&T is typically much heavier on the white if not mono white and uses flicker/blink effects much more heavily.
