Cube Sorting Options

TappedOut forum

I know for a regular deck you can set custom categories and then have your deck set to display those categories as the default view, but I was wondering if there was any way to do that for a cube? I just got my Tribal Cube uploaded, and all the cards are sorted into their respective categories, but I'm not seeing any way to make it default to those categories like in a regular deck. Is this just not a feature yet?

If you want to keep track of everything easier, use CubeTutor

I am using CubeTutor as well, but the custom categories on this site are really what interest me. The fact I was able to create the categories as I added the cards literally added only seconds to my typing time, and I don't really feel like having to do that on another website. Even with the mass update on there it will still take significantly longer since they don't get as specific with the parameters as I want, so it's actually not easier.

yeaGO - awesome! I prefer to use TappedOut over any other site as I know it better and have been here since 2010, so no worries there man.

Until the cube feature becomes identical to the decklist, just make a decklist of your cube so you can properly organize things, then make a cubetutor one.

Cubetutor has organization features that are simply far superior than what this site is designed for. For example you can't change the colour, type or rarity of your card for cube nor can you organize how your packs are laid out in custom draft profiles. Further the AI for cubetutor is superior as it contains algorithms based on popular picks in the cube, algorithms based on tag data and card identity, and even pick reports to fine tune how the algorithms function on a card by card basis. Finally, cubetutor records a lot of data. All your past pick data and decks that are built with that cube stored as data in the cube itself. So whereas we would have to make a new decklist, the decks made in cubetutor are joined with the cubes themselves. And the graphs show multicoloured as individual sections rather than lumping them all into one gold category that we do.

I recommend utilizing both this site and cubetutor because each site presents something to the table. The biggest benefit this site has over cubetutor is the application of custom categories, which allow you to organize your archetypes with incredible ease, not something you can do in cubetutor. Further, the editing page on this site is much easier and simpler, and you can alter card data as you enter it in terms of custom categories. Speaking of data, are graphs and charts are much easier to read and derive data off of rather than compared to cubetutor. Finally, discussions on your cube are much easier here as there is no existing local forum on cubetutor, each cube has its own forum but no one ever uses it.

Yeago, if you want people to use this site over cubetutor in terms of cube functions, you'd have to do some serious work on the cube section of the site to make it better.

Femme_Fatale - right, as I said previously I do use both sites, so I understand the benefits each site has to offer. I'm trying to make the point that the cube feature needs work, with which we seem to be in agreement. I always prefer to use my 'home' magic site over anything else, of course.

yeaGO Hope I can explain this well enough:
What's with the 2 sort dropdowns now in the cubes? If I choose custom categories in the first dropdown the second dropdown defaults to Type.If I change the second dropdown to anything else the first dropdown will no longer be custom categories.

Also for custom categories when you wanted to name the category with multiple words you would use an underscore as a separator and the site would strip out the underscore making your custom category appear as 2 words. Now the underscore is visible. Were these planned changes?

Awesome! Other thing is the underscores are still appearing in the custom category names.

Since this went live my cube has been blank. I can access it just fine in chrome, but on my phone it's not there. I can still draft it and draw a sample hand or a sealed pool. I pretty much only use my phone to browse.
