Cube - Drafting more than 3 packs

TappedOut forum

I am trying to design an edh cube, and it needs to draft more than 4 packs. Would someone be able to add this feature to tapped out?

You could use cube tutor if you really needed it.

I know, but cube tutor does not have the option to draft with other people. I was hoping to play test it by drafting online, and playing against my friends through octgn.

Could someone explain how to construct an EDH cube? Do you just have one of each card in the cube with the specified amount of each color? How do you determine the use of a general?

Typically the generals are drafted separately. Something like a pack of 4-5 that gets drafted of just generals. The other cards are then drafted normally and usually legendaries that are part of the normal draft can't be used as commanders.

How many cards are generally in a commander draft? I'm new to cubes.

It depends on several factors. 1. How many people is this designed for? 2. Are you planning on having normal sized commander decks or 59 card commander decks? Keep in mind regardless of which you chose the draft will still be longer than a normal cube draft, so you don't want people burnt out before the draft is over. 3. How many colors per deck do you want to support? If you can give me answers to these I should be able to help you out.

I have a small playing group of 4 people, so I want a commander cube for that and I'd like to put together (another time) a regular cube.

Five colors is preferable so there is an even larger diversity. Budget isn't an issue for the cube. I want to do normal commander deck size.

Ok so you're looking at about a 480 card cube (drafting 8 packs of 15). Roughly 80 cards per color and 80 for non basic lands and artifacts. Add roughly 12 commanders to that and you should be good. Mostly you'll want to avoid multi colored cards because it just makes deck construction and drafting harder.
