Notifications don't work.

I check it and I have messages but when I click on the picture of the envelope it says 'No unread chat messages'

How do you chat with someone? Do they have to enable it with you too?

I figured it out.

You can enable chat with someone by going to their profile and clicking "enable chat" (it's in the same bar as their binder and other options).

Once both users enable chat, you can click on the "all chats" button in the chat menu in the header bar. This will take you to your chat hub.

Epoch I don't have the chat button. I did before the actual feature was fully implemented.

I think they should be defaulted to on. and then you can deselect speaking with someone.

that way you ill get the messages from others even if you arent expecting them instead of having to set up agreements beforehand. to me it defeats the point if you have to go to someone and enable chatting with them in specific.

Bad idea.

What happens if someone spams? Opt-in prevents that outright. Plus, why should you have to hunt down people to ignore when you can just approve those you want to chat with as they come up?

unless Im wrong both parties have to opt in to chat. so you have to wall post them asking to opt in to chat. then you actually can

where as if its defaulted open. You get a message and boom chat and community ensues. or Dont wanna speak with said person? boom click a button and its gone for good. Just my opinion. cause as it sounds now its an effort just to start talking in the first place

Maybe im misunderstanding how the system works.

It's the same as facebook really. You have to add someone and they have to confirm that request to chat. It's a fine system.

But the notifications don't work.

Perhaps one could arrange it so that people you have already added as a friend you can chat with without going to their wall again and checking that you'd like to chat with them?
