Can you block a deck?

Is there a way to block specific decks so I won't see them? A lot of decks keep getting deckcycled over and over again so I see the same stuff a lot of the time. That part I don't really care about. What I don't like is when a deck that gets deckcycled a lot has the featured art as something I think is extremely inappropriate, or maybe the title has language that bothers me. I want to know if I can censor these decks so I won't see them anymore because I really find these decks offensive sometimes.

Without getting into whether this is a good idea or not; this function is not possible on the site.

This really boils down to whether or not we want to allow censorship on the site, which we've talked about before and pretty much concluded that it's not something we want. Sadly, I can't really offer you an alternative. I mean, you can just not look at the cycled deck feed, but that puts you out in the cold, and I would never seriously suggest that to begin with.

Censorship would be saying that the deck cannot have the art or name, the OP is asking if they can personally block content they find displeasing. That's not censorship anymore than blocking a problematic user, which is an option, though I'm not sure the extent of the block since I haven't blocked anyone yet.

If you have Adblock you can block the image in question. The deck title and its presence in the deckcycle list is another matter, if blocking users doesn't already block decks maybe it should?

User-specific filtering isn't really censoring though. It's basically just a block button, which we already do for users. EDIT: Basically what FancyTuesday said.

The featured art that contains explicit material through the use of altered artwork is not allowed on this site and should be reported to either Chief, Epoch, Yeago or me. Which reminds me that I need to clean out some of the alters I uploaded on this site before we decided to implement those guidelines. Mainly that Birds of Paradise alter done by Sandreline. Sensual as it is, it doesn't really follow those guidelines.

maybe we should just add a hub that everyone would agree to tag decks with potentially offensive content.

Eh, that's up to you yeaGO, I don't really see too much benefit in it ... but the block feature for decks is exactly the same as a user block, you wouldn't see it pop up in feature queues, deck cycles or on the front page. It would help newer users get coverage and feedback on their decks against the decks that people constantly see.

Oh, we could also have it so that you don't see any decks in the queues or cycles by a certain user if you block that user.

I'll go through every user's alters and report some NSFW ones. I cleared out about 4 from my list, though there's still two I'm iffy on.

Well, I know that DeviantArt and other sites include more specific versions of the following question "Does this item include potentially offensive/inappropriate content?" on their submission screens. Perhaps tappedout could include something like that, but it would almost require date of birth as being a required question upon creating an account as well as giving users the option of blocking them intentionally.

Wait so we don't have a minimum age requirement for users of the site? And yet we wonder why some people just seem to act so... childish?

This site is pretty good when it comes to NSFW stuff, we won't need to implement things like those.

I'm so far the biggest culprit :p

Well, some deck names could be considered inappropriate depending on the individual. =P

I do understand that the majority on the site doesn't support censoring, but there are still a few in favor of it.

Not mentioning my personal opinion, as I don't see how my personal opinion matters in this particular discussion, the option to "block" decks that could be considered inappropriate would be a good addition for anyone who wouldn't want to see certain words/ideas in titles and descriptions.
