TappedOut forum

Hey guys! (Or girls! Or other!) So I love your website... like... REALLY love it. The only issue I have is that the ads that run on it lately are a little, I guess the only term for it is - NSFW.

I'm sure you'll respond with the fact that you don't have control over it, but I like to use TappedOut while I'm AT work, where I spend the majority of time lately. And It's a little difficult to do when clickbait nsfw ads are depicting an anime/animated video game girl bouncing up and down to simulate something risky for work.

Before you ask, no, we don't have adblock. We have crappy outdated internet Explorer versions that are slow, but I've convinced several of my coworkers to join! That's two more people that are scared to use the site with how often THESE specific ads show up.

If anything can be done, please do it. I want to support you guys as much as possible, but it's rather difficult to do if this is an obstacle. I'm not threatening to stop using it! I'm simply stating that I won't be able to use it as often as I'd like to, nor could I really recommend it to my at work magic buds if they're at risk of being pulled into an office for something completely unrelated to the site itself.

Thanks for reading, here's the TL;DR:

NSFW ads showing up while at work, please fix this.

Maybe its a good thing that you cant be here all the time while you are "working" ;)

This is the official thread for reporting annoying ads, but this will work too. Try to include something more descriptive than "bouncing anime girls" for the ad. (screenshot is best).

If that's implying that I don't work, you'd be surprised. But seriously, with the amount of downtime we have, it'd be nice to not have that risk constantly over the hill.

Thanks for getting back to me Boza, definitely will.

I've noticed these ads too and it prevents me from using this site during school and often even at home. Please just remove them.

The above link is the best thing to do for reporting problem ads, but as far as an AdBlocker type solution, you can become an upgraded member ($5 one time payment in the Extras tab) and then click "adbanish" in your user settings. It's not as much revenue as seeing ads, I'm sure, but it's a way to support the site and ad block responsibly! Plus you get the cool colors for your username :P

EDIT: Oh wait, this might be a supporter thing ($3/mo), can anyone confirm? I'm both and can't remember...

It's a supporter thing. $3 a month to support site with your $ instead of advertisers

@smackjack - What if your company isn't stuck up and doesn't care what you do on your breaks? Hell, I own my own company and find myself Alt-Tabbing because of these freaking adds just so I don't come across as some massive perv to my employees.

Yeah I've got to second this. The recent ads with the anime-styled girls in compromising positions jumping up and down... make browsing and commenting on T/O when I'm between customer calls at a Fortune 50 company really uncomfortable...

I thought maybe it was just my bad luck or that I was the only one who cared. Glad to see I'm not alone.

yeaGO thank you for your haste and vigilance. You're legendary and deserve all the +1/+1's we have to offer! I really do hope we have committed Goryo's Vengeance on these ads depicting Brutal Expulsions unfit for work! Surely the Wrath of God has been our Otherworldly Journey away from risking our necks while on the job!

But in all seriousness, I appreciate how quickly you've responded! Cheers!

So I've noticed the resurgence of the same ads, they were gone for a little while there. They're showing up on the deck summary page for me. I came back from a break and there was one in the top right hand corner on the breakdown of my deck. I'll get home today and turn off my adblock so I can point it out with my next comment.

So I saw one of the original ones just now.

Here is where the link follow took me.

And here's the ad in action.

Game is called Blade of Queen

Apparently it's a cheap little adult mmorpg that is getting some negative feedback from Facebook as well and is ticking people off in general for stealing images from other games and characters (which is normal for these games) like Skyrim and others. I'm fairly sure that picture in particular is just Leifang in one of her costumes from Dead or Alive Last Round.

I have different issue. When I click on the icons at the top right in the Inventory selections, it keeps taking me to Best Buy ads on a new tab. I literally can't go to a deck I'm building because the Decks link functions only to take me to a Best Buy ad. Ditto every other button on that panel, including Close. Makes the site unusable until it stops, which sometimes takes days. Makes me wonder whether you've been hacked. If not, . . . well, I'd rather not think that was a deliberate business model. LOL

No i think some ads load with an error in how they overlay, sorry about that. I think if you can scroll the ad out of view it shouldn't interfere.
