Why is Glare of Heresy not more popular?

For anyone who forgot about this card, it's good! Abzan and Jeskai have won a couple tournaments and Mardu is on the rise. Glare of Heresy hits most of the important cards that these decks need to win. Elspeth, Sun's Champion , Sorin, Solemn Visitor , Siege Rhino , Wingmate Roc , Fleecemane Lion , Mantis Rider , Seeker of the Way , Butcher of the Horde , Brimaz, King of Oreskos , and even Jeskai Ascendancy are some the cards glare will take care of.

It definitely seems better than Suspension Field and Banishing Light post board in certain match ups because Glare of Heresy doesn't hang around to be blown up by enchantment removal. This card definitely deserves more play... especially at 10 cents a pop on tcgplayer right now.

The biggest problem is that it isn't an Instant. It was used in some SB to deal with Elspeth, Sun's Champion , but I imagine that there is just too much fighting against it. Especially since it doesn't stop Siege Rhino from draining you for 3 or Mantis Rider from hitting you the turn it comes into play.

It is good, but sorcery speed means whatever you want it to hit, has already made its impact, most likely. If was instant speed it would see play in every sideboard that could support it.

Yes, I've actually started sideboarding 3x Gainsay to go up against Jeskai, Temur, and U/B or U/W Control.

I agree that sorcery speed is unfortunate, but since Erase is seeing side board play, maybe this is a good answer to that. From a jeskai perspective, you're already bringing in Hushwing Gryff against abzan and Siege Rhino to stop the drain. Glare could replace Suspension Field or Chained to the Rocks making Erase a dead card.

The great thing about Gainsay is that it can counter a T3 Mantis Rider or Savage Knuckleblade even if you go 2nd!

Best thing for Mardu against the things you've listed above is Despise . I have 4 in sb. Erase , Shatter , and Ride Down round out my sb. I want Utter End 's to replace Ride Down though.

It's very good in this meta which is why I run two in my Mardu Midrange sideboard.

Yea, sad story that it is a sorcery. I'm still going to use it. It is actually pretty good! :D

I personally like Suspension Field over Glare of Heresy in Jeskai Tempo because of Courser of Kruphix and Polukranos, World Eater .

Even at sorcery speed it is a good card and i used it quite a bit last standard in my MONO white deck as a way to get rid of D-sphere and Elspeth. The exile is a plus to me and its even better now with delve being a big part of Jeskai using dig through time, I would also keep erase in ANY sideboard i have with white in the main JUST for Ascendancy decks... That list is super under rated IMO. I have just seen it win so consistently and without answers from your 15 it will continue to do so. I also like gainsay and dark betrayal in sideboards of decks running their perspective colors. All of them make for a cheaper version of a spell you might already be running in the main anyway.
