Glacial Fortress , Drowned Catacomb , Rootbound Crag , Sunpetal Grove , and Dragonskull Summit have been in the last 4 core sets. Will they appear in M14 or is Wizards ready to take our mana base in new direction?
I predict an uncommon cycle for all ten, with rare man lands. I can't see them giving five guilds twice as much fixing. This would also allow mutavault as a sixth rare land to work with the sliver reprint. But that may just be wishful thinking.
I hope so, but I don't know. WOTC have said that they think checklands have become a bit boring, and that they want to print a cycle of the full 10 duals in most sets from now on. I'm hoping for the M13+Innistrad lands to be reprinted. The problem I see with printing new duals is that for the months between M14 and rotation, manabases would be absurdly good, and especially the two-color aggro decks (GR, BR Zombies, maybe even Boros), would be incredibly consistent.
I think it'd be better to wishfully think for the old fetch lands.
With 3 slots open in m14 for lands... And the shocks available. I have a hard time believing in the buddy lands being reprinted in m14. 3 spots open means 23 land slots available in m14 and 20 used for basic land.
@gufymike: What's your source for that? (Only 3 open land slots). According to the MtG Salvation Spoilers. There is are 5 possible land slots. The last confirmed card number is 221 with lands starting at 230, and 3 artifacts coming after #221, which could concievably be #222, 223, 224. Leaving 225 - 229.
I think we are going to see something like future sights Nimbus Maze
Mainly because they have said new players do not see the value of pain lands and it would play into the the RTR block, and it really does keep the same basic flavour as the current m13 land package
Guys... seriously... savage summoning is going to piss so many people off. F*** your counter, here's my Boros Reckoner on your turn as a 4/4.... yea, that'd piss me off..
I believe they might cut the buddy duals we have all finally come to love and attain full playsets of, mainly because we still have all the shocks and even gates, which are essentially buddy lands without having the buddy. So I won't be surprised to see them left out of this core set. With nothing new in their place. Aside from the shocks and gates they have alrdy provided.
Arachnarchist the number crunch thread on mtgsalvation rumor mill. Says 3 but could be a mistake.
@Demarge: Yes please...I want Onslaught fetchlands back in Standard :(
