The format's bogeyman, the "best deck" from a couple weeks ago seems to have mostly vanished. It's obviously hasn't disappeared completely but it hasn't top 8'd the last two tournaments and hasn't been doing very well. I thought the decks strengths were its adaptability and resilience. What happened?

People began planning for it. If a large portion of the community plan to beat a deck, they can give those decks losses and push them out of top 8 contention. I'm sure if you looked, Jeskai Black still is making it to day 2. However, they are unable to get all the way.

Frankly, I'm happy. But if it continues there will be a resurgence. It is a great deck and has the ability to adjust with a plethora of options.

With a lot of decks planning ahead to beat jeskai black, you will see a counter action occur where jeskai black will adapt and slightly change the 75 to accommodate.

Two tournaments is not nearly a big enough sample size to say that something "happened" to a deck. The two top teams on one of those tournaments chose to be on esper dragons and 4c rally, probably to metagame against the big green decks and abzan. Basically what all this means is that Jeskai was not seen as the correct deck of the week by players who would play it best so its numbers have fallen a bit. When trying to figure out were a metagame is going you want to look at three weekends worth of top 16s and magic online data to analyze any shifts.
