SCG had a Standard Open this weekend, and here are the Top 8 decks:

2 Jeskai Tempo/Burn

3 Green Devotion (Mono-G, G/B, G/R)

1 G/R Monsters

2 R/W-base Midrange-Control (RW, Mardu)

Kevin Jones ended up winning the event with Jeskai Tempo, and the incredibly broken Narset, Enlightened Master into double Stoke the Flames . What are your thoughts on this event?

Really surprised to not see Prognostic Sphinx creeping up in everyone's list. Green Devotion seems to be the safest deck to play, putting up the most consistent results. Good call on the Jeskai Tempo players to play something that can easily deal with Polukranos, World Eater .

Decklists can be found here and here for anyone who wants to look.

It's still really early in the format, so we'll see if Green Devotion and Jeskai Tempo hold up.

Ah, I forgot about the other Open in Indianapolis. The top 8 decks there were GR Devotion, 2 GR Monsters (1 Jund, 1 Naya, 1 GR), 2 Green Devotion (1 GR, 2 Mono-G) and 2 Abzan Midrange.

Interesting that we see no pure mono aggro, no Mardu midrange, and no control at all.

Aggro really stood no chance. Too much burn and green fatties being played. Control should be ready to show up at the GP next week.

Rasta_Viking29 - I wouldn't say Aggro didn't stand a chance. Mono-red aggro got 9th and Mono-Black aggro got Top 25. But they were definitely outnumbered by the Abzan midrange decks and Green based devotion decks, which are very good against Weenie aggro.

Was there any dredge finishing high? My testing goes really well and there's no graveyard hate in the format. Like at all.

I am very happy Jeskai Burn/Tempo did well, as that was the deck I was planning on running...

TexasDice Well...Tormod's Crypt is a thing. Which I'm sure will see more play ifsultai dredge/abzan reanimator (which were two decks which placed highly) continue to do well.

@TexasDice Brad Nelson placed 11th with Sultai Delve. Tormod's Crypt shall do just fine.

Oh Sweet, go Brad! Can't wait for that footage to hit youtube.

And yes, I know Tormod's Crypt exists, but I didn't belive people would actually use it this early.
