So why isn't jund a thing? Right now the mana is perfect. Creatures are great, too. However, I've just taken a jund dragons ainda deck to a local pptq And got smashed. Hangarback Walker was awful with all those wraps around. TheMono-red hate also might be a problem since surge is so effective. What do u people think?

I may be mistaken but that combination of colour doesn't have a big pay off card like mono white has Gideon, Abzan siege rhino, Jeskai mantis rider and Mardu crackling doom

There is no wedge and no big stars as in abzan or jeskai. However the Cards are great, nevertheless. I sense the high end cards work well. The lower end is not, though.

Jund doesn't have Blue or White, so access to the best removal and creature cards in the format are not possible;
and so on.
Sure it has Dragonlord Atarka but that's hardly worthy compared to the other possbilities of Dark Jeskai / Abzan Blue / Esper Green / whatever the hell you want to call the 4-colour stuff.

I have this jund midrange deck that is actually pretty good at fnm and is really fun (shameless plug, p.s. ignore the mantis rider splash, it is irrelevant now and not in the current deck) Jund is the new Abzan
