I haven't really looked up or payed attention to Standard for about three years now, and was wondering what had really become popular since the Abzan Siege Rhino blink decks. Thanks

MTGTop8 is a good starting point, also check out Mythic Spoiler for Dominaria previews if you want to start considering what to build when it comes out. Checking out the local meta is a good idea too, sometimes players have extra decks you can borrow for events or pickup games.

After Khans, Standard dropped to one of the lowest points in its history. We've rebounded and the general attitude of the community right now is very excited and people are generally happy with standard. Use MtGtop8 to check out how the format looks like right now.
