Would you say that's an okay answer to boardwipes? I mean, Soul of New Phyrexia costs a ton for both its casting cost and its ability, but you can drop it and keep 5 mana up starting next turn to protect your board from all sorts of wipes. Of course, if they exile the soul you're outta luck.

I'm not talking about playing it turn 6 after they've wiped, but perhaps just sometime before they've found the mana or the card to wipe. Is that just Magical Christmas Land?

with the amount of good ramp and fixing available with sylvan carytid, courser of kruphix, and elvish mystic especially, its not too much of a stretch to hit 6 mana before they hit 5 or more for a conventional wrath, but with burn wipes, it much more difficult IMO

It's really not applicable anywhere except Green Devotion. The cost is just too high. Plus Banishing Light , Suspension Field , Abzan Charm , etc. are all pretty big things, unfortunately. :(

I've seen it as a sideboard in some green devotion decks, thinking about having it in my white devotion deck. It'd be good against Elspeth and Hostilities, but yeah not so much against Anger

i mean there is cards like Prophet of Kruphix that comes out just before the soul does untapping everything is huge especially after a 6 drop bomb. I think this guy's real home is edh though
