Dragon-God is by far the coolest title ever. I find Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God very cool and I've been trying to think of a deck based around him. Obviously it's best suited for grixis control. You'd probably want atleast 2 copies of The Elderspell and other control oriented planeswalkers. I also thought about running Flux Channeler . I can't seem to find a deck that's very good since I mostly play midrange, aggro and jank, what would you do?

Agreed that the title of "Dragon God" is pretty high on the cool scales....If you want him as the wincon for his-8 (which would be hillarious to pull off with an opponent having a walker out with a +2 ;) ) then id say bring a full removal suite of The Elderspell and Murder / Hostage Taker with some Fiery Cannonade for those pesky tokens..... maybe hide behind a few Wall of Mist ?

The Elderspell is way too meta dependent. Even in limited, I'd only include them in the sideboard and rely on other means to tick up to his ultimate. This Bolas is definitely the "Grixis version of Teferi " with a +1 that draws cards and a -3 that answers right away. Unfortunately, both abilities are less powerful; he's not nearly as viable in Modern.

He won't see play in Modern Death Shadow, but I can see players trying him out in fringe Grixis Control lists. Don't get me wrong, Bolas is in no means a "bad" card, but the combined tempo and card advantage Teferi brings is unrivaled in anything we've seen so far. It's exciting to see some variety in modern's control meta, so hopefully Bolas can hold his own as a win con.

Probably the most important thing is to make sure the vast majority of your lands produce black mana and that none can't produce red, blue or black. Besides that, if you can maneuver your first 4 turns so that he'll survive until the turn after you play him then you are very ahead ( Ritual of Soot helps with this). There are some combos with Jace, Cunning Castaway that can literally go infinite with some other pieces but they aren't actually necessary.

If you compare the + abilities of Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God and Teferi, Hero of Dominaria in a vacuum, Bolas´ ability is miles ahead, but Bolas just doesn´t have the support cast, that Teferi has, especially in older formats.

I think Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God is banned and in general just too overpowered.

But if you are actually going to make a deck around Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God , you could use 4 Guildpact Informant for proliferating.

I'm running Dragon-God in my deck, but I've never used his ultimate to win a game. His +1 and -3 are enough to win most games.
