Does Bant control have a place for standard?

Thoughts?
Depends who you ask.
I have been a dedicated Standard player for a couple of years.
At the moment I find it very stale.
There are three cards in the current set that make decks very hard to beat, if you're not using them.
They cost a packet.
I would advise you to hold off building a deck until the next set is released.
Hopefully it will bring new mechanics with it that will shake things up.

I think it's doable but it more than likely won't be taking top 8 at any major events or anything, my lgs does have a good bit of variety at fnm' s so my view on it may be slightly skewed tho

I enjoy playing the game with my current deck. Right now the meta for me is either combo or snakes. I stopped combo my last run out and came real close to beating snakes. My drive is to take an underdog deck and have it compete.
My next PPTQ is in May, so we'll see where the meta goes when Amoneket comes out. At that point there may be alot of cards that may be canned; I also won't be surprise if BFZ Gids is canned in April

I have seen Bant control lists online, but like how the above comments say, that deck may not do well. I am running Sultai Delirium Control and can say that it is an interesting and fun deck to play, but difficult against quicker decks due to the mana base.

... and the meta, at least at my LGS, is wall-to-wall aggro decks at the moment.

Darn, It seemed like control had plenty of counter , draw, but the mana is off at least when I looked into building a control deck. I don't know what a win con could be for control anyway.

You can do different win cons in Control such as the +1 for Sorin, Grim Nemesis, but that takes time to happen.
Time you don't get in a competitive meta.
If you meta is more casual you might get there.

AgentGreen I don't wish to discuss this because, every time I do, people tell me what I should be playing.
I'm here to give my input to the OP, not to seek advice for myself.

I am thinking about playing standard again because there isn't a store near by me in Fort Worth Texas that puts on any Legacy events. I haven't picked up a deck in 2 years.

Not really. With the two top decks being strong midrange/aggro, there is no place currently in standard for a control deck.
