Haven't played since 2011... Came across a new group of friends who plays so decided to get my cards out of storage.

I have a partially put together soldier deck i was working on... I need help rounding it out.. Willing to spend $5-$25 dollars on it.(before shipping)

By doing a little research of soldier decks now I'm Thinking i should def buy

4x Preeminent Captain

4x Precinct Captain

Do you agree?

Looking to make this a quick take down soldier deck while flooding with 1/1 attackers.. At least that's how i think this deck was going.

Here are the cards i had all together in a box. I'm at 48 cards(not counting SB) If i add the 4 pre eminent and 4 precinct I'm at 56 cards and I've only spent about $5.. Still room for 4 more cards.

So I'm excited to get back into playing but it's been almost 6 years since i played so not up to date on all the cards.. thanks for your help.

4x Precinct Captain for sure. He's boss. He's not a soldier but I run Jazal Goldmane in my Soldier Token deck, his ability is simply outstanding. Might consider Captain's Call and Raise the Alarm as well. Spear of Heliod buffs and can kill creatures.

Btw if you put the card name in brackets it shows the card link.

You can check out my soldier deck if you want and try to get some ideas. No-Limit Soldiers (Unghhhh)

Good luck with it, Soldier Token decks are a lot of fun.

I know he's a bit expensive, but Brimaz, King of Oreskos would be a good card to add. He doesn't easily fall to Lightning Bolt or Fatal Push, he's got solid stats and he can potentially generate a token for you on every turn.

Archetype of Courage over Rhox Pikemaster everytime. I built my friend a soldier token deck that uses a fog mechanic with Knight-Captain of Eos and it is very good but I feel a synergistic aggro deck would do better more consistently.

Soldier is a ton of fun and can be very quick. Some great suggestions have been made, in just adding my 2 cents. I know money is tight, but upgrading little by little will pay off.

Preeminent Captain is a solid choice as is Captain of the Watch for that whammy combo. None of your other cards should be over 3 CMC.

Agree with Honor the Pure and Spear of Heliod (remember you can only have 1 legendary out at a time).

Brave the Elements is good evasion.

Ballyrush Banneret is a great way to reduce out of hand costs. Moderate replacement for Daru Warchief.

Kor Skyfisher is a nice surprise to drop down on your opponent.

Field Marshal is also a solid choice. The more buffs you can slap down for each soldier that hits the field the better. I used Veteran Armorsmith and Veteran Swordsmith like you have since I didn't have Marshall.

Martial Coup is a solid boardwipe that puts you on top.

Thanks so much for all your advice everyone.. I ordered some of the mentioned cards above.. I'll add them to my deck and play it a few times and see how it goes.
