GW Ramp. Do these cards not work together or what?

Standard Deck Help forum

I have been play testing this deck for quite a while now and my card draws are terrible 80% or so of the time. Is it the cards I'm using or is my curve off? Idk, some discussion would be nice!

My deck:

You have only 7 cards to ramp, so I would expect this to be pretty inconsistent. I think you have too many big cards and too few ramp cards.

Also something to note is you have only one way of drawing cards and it cost four mana. Pair that with the fact that even the ramp spells you do have don't generate any more than one mana and it sets you up for trouble. For example lets say you have a Carnage Tyrant and want to play it. it will require seven cards to get that onto the battle field, because it requires 6 sources of mana plus the actual Carnage Tyrant. This is pretty problematic against any deck except for maybe Control.

Thanks Bennett! What I honestly want to do with the deck is to get that carnage tyrant out and then play ghalta for end game. I know this won't happen consistently, but when I was playing mono green I had the problem of all my creatures being removed so I can't cast Ghalta. So shalai was sort of my answer to that and she works with green so idk maybe I just need to splash white, or like I said on the deck page, take out some removal for more creatures/ramp

I think that you could pull that off but you will need to play Ramp that adds more mana, lands, or cards. One idea is to play Ramunap Excavator with Evolving Wilds and cards that let you play multiple lands per turn like Wayward Swordtooth and in the new set there will be Crucible of Worlds you could also play Enter the Unknown. those are just some ideas I am sure there are better ones I hope you can find a way to get things to work out!

Don't be discouraged if your deck requires some work because most of my decks have to be completely redone at least once. I find it pretty fun to try to fix my decks and that is why I am trying to help out now.

So here's the revised version of the deck, thanks to your guy's suggestions. Let me know what you think.

That looks a lot better! I think maybe a couple of two mana cost dorks would be good. I might go down Ripjaw and put it in side board because he is very good against Red removal but not very good against other colors. but so far I have found the deck to be pretty good!

Wow I play tested the deck and it works pretty well! I honestly did not really know if that ramp package would work, It was just an idea I thought of earlier, but the deck looks very good, and the combo works pretty well in playtesting.

It didn't work guys! It didn't work.

What went wrong?

Well the ramp was working exceptionally but the stuff to ramp into was no where to be seen. I went 0-4 last night and managed to put ghalta out once on turn four and still lost haha. Idk I think it needs an overhaul again

Maybe play two Verdurous Gearhulk? you have about 6 win conditions And 8 is probable what you want to have.
