I present to you with Grixards (or Grixis Wizards)! The main goal of the deck is to play aggro-control came while grinding out your opponents with tribal synergy, discard and counterspell. Suggestions and upvotea are welcome. This is a fun brew I concocted and I have came 5-0 in a local FNM in my hometown.

How did you 5-0 at FNM when a third of the cards in your deck aren't standard legal?

Have you not seen the spoilers for Ixalan yet? One third of this deck is in that set.

I'm all about the Ixalan spoilers, but as Ixalan hasn't released yet, those card's aren't standard legal yet.

Yo, Ryjo. In case of you haven't heard, Tappedout.net is coding the Ixalan spoil cards so that people can concoct to play test. Also, M12-M13 duals lands would be considered standard legal since they will be in the current set coming out, so shut the fuck up and go somewhere else.

I understand that on here you can use cards spoiled for Ixalan to construct decks, I've put in many cards for Ixalan and previous sets. I'm just curious as to how they are played at FNM when they aren't standard legal yet.

September 9, 2017 6:29 p.m.

My friend, it is called proxies. It's obvious that he has most of the lands on paper, proxy the rest and then played them at FNM. Not to mention that it's obvious that the store manager allowed them to do so. Any other dumbass comments you wish to add on this page, because I think we've wasted enough time and space for this young gentlemen/woman.

What Ryjo is correctly, and politely, trying to explain is that at the moment any cards that don't appear in the following sets aren't legal to play in Standard:

  • Battle for Zendikar
  • Oath of the Gatewatch
  • Shadows Over Innistrad
  • Weclome Deck 2016
  • Eldritch Moon
  • Kaladesh
  • Aether Revolt
  • Amonkhet
  • Welcome Deck 2017
  • Hour of Devastation

You can check whatsinstandard to see that.

It doesn't matter if you have older versions of Ixalan cards. If they aren't in the sets I just mentioned, they aren't Standard legal.

The only way you can play them at Standard FNM is by your shop running a Casual league, where no DCI points are being awarded.

If anything other than that is occurring, then things are being done incorrectly.

This comment section went way out of hand here. I'm sorry for the confusion everyone! It was a casual league where the winner gets free snacks in the store.

September 9, 2017 6:51 p.m.

Argy, fuck off somewhere else and quit butting into someone else's business. Whatsinstandard has not update its shit, so you can go fuck off. Ixalan comes in a few weeks and these cards are standard legal no matter what.

There was only one person causing issues in this topic, and that was because they don't have a firm grasp about when Ixalan cards will become Standard legal.

People should be able to make their points without being personally abusive.

I'm glad that you've been having fun with your deck but the 5-0 doesn't really give an indication of how it will compete after rotation, if the league was Casual.

Miracles-and-Charms-of-Alara anyone can comment on a public topic.

Especially if they are trying to clear things up.

Notice how the original poster has clarified that the league was Casual? THAT person understands what we are saying.

However, from your aggressive and ill-informed comments, it has become apparent that you are just here to troll-lol-lol.

Nobody can be THAT ignorant.

Proceed with your childish name-calling.

Argy, look what you've done to them. That's how Magic is dying because assholes like you discourages new deckbuilders. Now they gonna delete their decks based off what you just said and may never play competitive magic at all. Stupid bitch!

hjaycee Don't listen to that gender queer. You do you and I hope that deck works out after rotation.

September 9, 2017 7:04 p.m.

You are the troll here. Neither you or Ryjo have said nothing about his deck, even if Ixalan haven't came out. So no, you are both discouraging him.

Miracles-and-Charms-of-Alara, you don't seem to understand that Argy is a respected and well-liked user on TappedOut that seeks to help others with their decks. I can tolerate you telling me to f off, but you are crossing into misogynistic and homophobic territory, and that is 100% not ok.

I don't see why hjaycee should or would delete their deck, it seems like a fun and solidly built deck, that if I were not going all in on dinos, I would strongly consider playing when rotation hits. Your deck gets a +1 from me.

Ryjo don't worry about Miracles-and-Charms-of-Alara.

It took me a little while to work out that they were just being a failtroll.

I also think that hjaycee has made an interesting deck and I can't wait to see how Spell Pierce and Opt work, in the new meta.

That account has been removed. Thanks for being civil & keeping TappedOut great, and sorry you had to deal with those comments!

Argy says... #19

Thanks for that, abby315.

I stopped reading their Comments so whatever they said at the end had no effect on me whatsoever.
