So I was looking at the card Perilous Vault and in the flavor text it mentions Ugin. Well after doing a quick search on Ugin I came to find out there was some direct correlation between Sarkhan and Nicol Bolas.

So do you think we will see more of Ugin, considering he is a dragon, and would we see Nicol Bolas again or maybe in different form.

I don't mean to shoot you down or anything but almost every khans of tarkir thread touches upon this idea. In the current realm, sarkhan vol is hearing the voice of ugin in his head and the eldrazi and bolas are pretty important to the story line

We wont see Ugin per say, because hes dead, as mentioned in the lore, but we might see cards that talk of him and Sarkan is hearing his voice so Im not all that sure.

There is a time travel element to Khans, so Sarkhan actually meeting Ugin isn't out of the question.

Plus, Perilous Vault kind of reminds me of the Helvault that trapped Griselbrand and the angels of Innistrad so who is to say that the Perilous Vault didn't exile Ugin...

Kinda brings up another question, do we maybe see some eldrazi later in the block?

Not to mention nicol bolas has desposed of him but never confirms that he is dead. (Possibly in the aether or trapped in a prison

  1. there is no confirmation of Ugins death, in fact he hints to Sarkhan that Bicol Bolas lies about this.

  2. He's a spirit dragon, so even if he was I'm sure it's no big deal.

  3. Sarkhans supposed name for khans is Sarkhan, the Dragons Voice, so I believe Ugins plan is to be reborn on this plane by having Vol do his dirty work.

  4. Having Ugin back might be good for the storyline, because he was one of the 3 that originally dealt with the Eldrazi.

I'm hoping and thinking that Ugin will see a Planeswalker card. Maybe even a colorless one, as referenced by Ghostfire . The scroll that Chandra had that inadvertently opened the Eye of Ugin was Ghostfire . Ugin's colorless magic was the only effective weapon against the Eldrazi, helping Sorin Markov and another, unnamed Planeswalker, seal the Eldrazi on the plane of Zendikar.

If Ugin does indeed return on Tarkir, then Nicol Bolas, the Phyrexians, and the Eldrazi will be sure to follow in the future.
