Get hyped. New mechanics and charms.

Delve is back for Sultai, Temur appears to have a toned-down Naya keyword (creature with power 4 or greater instead of 5), a 2BR Sarkhan that I'm not 100% sure is legit, an Azban boardwipe that's really one-sided but costs 4WBG, and the Jeskai leader who, as a 3/2 3URW, appears to a really good Commander, but maybe not so good in Standard. Nice.

I'm really digging Temur Ascendancy, Crackling Doom, and Sultai Charm.

GoldGhost012, the Sarkhan was just speculation, not at all real!

That Temur Keyword seems strong!

Well dune blast looks like it will be fun.

That Jeskai Khan!

It reminds me a little of Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge . I'm totally building another EDH deck.

Temur Ascendancy seems really, really busted to me (Animar says hey!). The Sultai Charm seems like a good EDH charm, I think. Delve is nice. Ridiculous overblown boardwipe makes me happy. Outlast might be good somehow?

And Narset is... ridiculous to me, as a Commander player. Hexproof, in color for Haste granters, and free noncreature spells in America colors, just for attacking (not even dealing damage)? Feels really really good to me.

Jeskai leader could be a control finisher with some burn and bounce.

Krayhaft says... #9

Perhaps we can expect a cycle of wedge ascendancy enchantments.

Also to note, Herald of Anafenza produces white warrior creature tokens, instead of the usual soldier tokens that we're used to.

August 30, 2014 10:46 p.m.

Jace, the Living Guildpact is looking good now.

Sultai Charm is great. It does everything, so much utility.

Temur enchant looks like sideboard material at first glance.

Cackling Doom is solid removal that is never dead.

Omg delve is back thank the Lord

Temur Enchant is EDH wonderlove. Animar, Soul of Elements just crapped himself.

August 30, 2014 10:57 p.m.

Temur ascendancy is actually pretty good now that I think about it. Play on turn two into Polukranos, World Eater on three is sweet.

What are your opinions on the Abzan mechanic, Outlast? Seems okay to me; just okay. The fact that it's sorcery speed and needs tapping makes it so that it opens you up. Well, at least it's balanced in that aspect.

The Abzan mechanic makes me think like a simpler Level Up, so I'm curious as to what else is to come.

I don't know. As showcase cards, I'm kind of underwhelmed. I think I like Crackling Doom the most (in part because of its tremendous artwork).

Some of the others looks solid too; I'm just not seeing anything to really get excited about yet.

Hmm so onslaught has morph, time spiral block has morph and delve. So this block is like a pseudo time spiral block/ invasion (dragons)/ alara/ onslaught.Damnation reprint is imminent! I called it, in this block if it happens I declare myself psychic. "The truth is out there".

I'm intrigued of where this set is going because I love Time Spiral block.

It kind of pisses me off that they are making the Khans only EDH playable. At least Zurgo Helmsmasher is basically a 3 color Desecration Demon with less toughness. 3/2 for 6? I mean at least I'm planning on playing RUG, not American, so I sure hope he's not utter bullcrap.

Just my 2 cents

LordOfDispair says... #20

Actually I didn't read the Jeskai one fully. Still lackluster P/T but the ability seems possibly very strong especially since it triggers right when she attacks so it could be a removal or counter spell and would play a big role. Hexproof will be huge.

Super happy about delve making it in, prowess seems cool, the RUG one seems boring but ok,

I'm torn on the Jeskai Khan. It looks overcosted, but I guess I could see it in some sort of burn heavy control build. Potentially being able to play 4 cards for free is pretty powerful. But if you're going Jeskai control, Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Keranos, God of Storms make a lot more sense.

I misread Narset the first time, thinking you had to pay the mana cost, but for free this is ridiculous. It's noncreature, so it can get artefacts, enchantments and planeswalkers as well as instants and sorceries.

Sarkhan looks very good.

CuteSnail says... #24

The Sultai charm is pretty cool, especially if Sultai is all about delve. the discard of the third ability won't even be a drawbrack.

August 31, 2014 12:31 a.m.

Called Sarkhan being mono red.

I love him.

OK, officially not underwhelmed anymore.
