Whoaaa, it's spoiler season again everyone! We've got things like Kiora and Bob Jr. headed our way, and people are already seeing the potential in bob jr. and Springleaf Drum . With all of this stuff coming out, is there anything you've seen and thought "I'm going to break this card"? I know next standard season i am definitely going to run with a B/x build (probably orzhov) abusing bob jr. to my best abilities. Speaking of, here is a follow up question for you all...base on what we've seen are you expecting to see any specific deck pop up once born of the gods hits?

I really like nefarious burn. ive heard mixed things about it, but I personally like it a lot. I feel like some Maze's End decks are going to pop up due to Kiora. I feel likeeveryone will be going for Bant control/ maze's end to start off, but I also think itll drop out quickly as the meta adjusts.

That Archetype of Imagination is going to be beast. I'm going to build another simic deck with it so I can go all flying Hydra's. For an uncommon that thing is insane. That said at 6mana, I can't see it seeing play without some form of mana acceleration.

I think we'll see some sort of BU/x? ramp aggro. Hidden Strings + Triton Tactics should make something using both Pain Seer and Ashiok's Adept viable such that you'll be able to draw and/or make other side discard turn 2 or 3 in ideal conditions.

Improbable but possible play:T1: Triton Shorethief (Cards in hand after: 5 or 6)T2: Springleaf Drum Hidden Strings Pain Seer Aqueous Form (Cards in hand after: 0 or 1, but will have 2 or 3 at start of next turn) * Play Springleaf Drum * Use Land + Springleaf Drum to play Hidden Strings * Untap Creature + Land with Hidden Strings * Swing and untap Springleaf Drum + Land #2 with 2nd Hidden Strings * Play Pain Seer with 2 lands * Use Springleaf Drum with Pain Seer to play Aqueous Form etc. * Draw 2 cards next turn.T3: Ashiok's Adept ...

Obviously you wouldn't really do that exactly. shrugs

The plain (smarter) jane thing is to just T1 Springleaf Drum , T2 Pain Seer + Aqueous Form and go from there.

non-budget and legitimately competitive next season. Throw in a playset of Bob jr. and it should be fun.

Hey, this means we can equip Xenagos, The Reveler to his new God form with Mycosynth Lattice and Bludgeon Brawl ! Xenagos would be equipped to Xenagos for massive amounts of damage!

im looking at abusing the living hell out of Springleaf Drum /kiora's follower, along with some U/G inspired creatures (if any good ones come about, if not Omenspeaker ) as well as Boon Satyr , Prophet of Kruphix , Kiora, the Crashing Wave and Prime Speaker Zegana the amount of mana ramp makes zegana feasible, and with boon's high power, low cost, makes a prime target for her to trigger off of.

I see some type of Bant flash happening with Ephara. Elspeth making token on your turn to let you draw on your opponents turn. Then you cast a creature on their turn with the help of flash or Prophet of Kruphix in order to double your own draw on your turn. This keeps the threats coming and then you overrun your opponent eventually. You even have access to things that make you indestructible in case a nasty board wipe shows up to hurt you.

@Ultimaodin

Warden of Evos Isle could make that card good!

@GKirt - but then you're more than likely playing mostly fliers anyway so you'd be better off running something that's more of a win-con in that position and keeping that as a sideboard against other heavy flier decks.
