Nice Gray Merchant, dork.
This will see constructed play. Maybe even modern? (How much better is Torpor Orb compared to this? And are there good 4 drops to pod into?)
Also, constellation, Master of Waves , possible Hornet Queen and I'm sure many more to come. I think this guy will be serious sideboard tech.

Thus will see modern play IMO. Torporb is cheaper, but responding to Twin with this cuts off their hand instead of holding it back.
Pod mayyybe, Hatebears/D&T yes.

Torpor orb at instant speed on a 2/1 flying body? Sign me up. Will likely be replacing torpor orb in my modern sideboard.
If there's enough ETB effects in standard then Hushwing be a sideboard card at least. On that though, I'm curious if Hushwing stops Eidolon of Blossoms from triggering from enchantment creatures?

Osang Except the flip side of that is that any deck that cares about Torper Orb will have plans for it. And sure, they can't Lightning Bolt your Torper Orb but it's not as if artifact hate is that small when affinity is still one of the top decks in the format. Personally, between the two I'll take the Torper Orb that actually puts pressure on them.
WomboCombo It does. It's not that it just stops ETB abilities like Fiend Hunter , it's stopping any ability that would trigger from a creature coming into play, regardless of the source. It won't however stop an straight enchantment from triggering Eidolon of Blossoms 's ability though.

WomboCombo It's ultimately the reverse situation of why you can't Negate a Courser of Kruphix . While Eidolon of Blossoms is only looking for enchantments, which Courser of Kruphix is, it's also a creature and thus can't trigger abilities at all for coming into play while Hushwing Gryff is on the field.

Ok maybe not but pouncing on Splinter Twin combo, Snapcaster Mage , Restoration Angel , melira pod combos and value creatures etc... But where is a home for it? Perhaps hatebears

I think I still prefer Torporb because it's 1 mana cheaper and because it's somewhat harder to remove than a creature. Having said that it's a very strong card and I can see it at home in both standard and modern.

Orb is harder to get rid of, but this can potentially buy you a turn.

Someone at my LGS just home-brewed an Ally deck that tore apart my B/W tokens... this will be a 4of in my Sideboard.
- Pod... sure you can get a new creature, but it's vanilla.
- Affinity... sure you can cast splinter twin, but your Deceiver Exarch
won't untap.
- Faries... sure you can cast a Clique, but it's vanilla.
- Ally deck... all your creatures are slightly over costed and vanilla.

It has Flash, which is relevant. I like that it flies. It does die to every kind of removal. Still, it will see Modern play. Torpor Orb is better in many other situations, and being an artifact, is harder to remove and can go in any sideboard.

It is also good in pod as you can tutor him up via birthing pod. It's a sideboard card as bit hurts you a little bit but if you are playing the mirror match and opting for having beats, it's good

This is awesome. Being a UW Control player in Standard, I approve of this critter. Then again, I like where ThatBlueMage is going, so might have to change it up to Standard Hatebears. Now we just need Aven Mindcensor to be reprinted.

Aven Mindcensor is to Mindlock Orb (kind of) as this is to Torpor Orb .

Anybody have ideas of how this will interact with the Gods and constellation triggers? Say the God is entering a battlefield without enough devotion to be a creature?

I don't have a clue how the flash aspect would affect its status against Torpor Orb , but the orb is still more appealing to me since there are a lot less artifact hate than creature hate.
