Speaking of Imperial Seal. Ive never understood why its considered so much better than Vampiric Tutor they do the same thing dont they? Heck vampiric is even an instant

CuteSnail says... #2

Limited print run. Low number of copies of English(or was it all?) Copies of Imperial Seal.

February 16, 2016 10:31 a.m.

Yep. Seal was only printed during Portal Three Kingdoms, an extremely rare set.

Abrupt Decay and Deathrite Shaman. Neither need new art but are legacy staples.

The first thing that came to mind was Natural Order.

Also what's the thoughts on them printing cards that are banned in one eternal format but not others? Mana Vault is the main one I was thinking.

Rayenous says... #6

So, do you think they will print some of the 2-card instant win combo's, like Grindstone + Painter's Servant , or do you think they will steer clear of those due to the brokeness of them in Draft?

...Whoa. WHOA.

Looking at it though, it does seem a tad unlikely for Wizards.

Fucking fuck.

CastleSiege says... #10

There's too many expensive cards for me to believe that list is real. It's designed for a draft format and having all thise staples would be disgusting.

February 16, 2016 12:21 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #11

Remember their mythics, a lot of them - most of the good ones. And for a lot of the rares, cheap printings do exist. It's nothing that unbelievable.

It's all smoke and mirrors anyway. Limited print run etc etc.

Also, link of the thread in question.

February 16, 2016 12:24 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #13

Also, if that is real, it does look like another set where you pay over $10 for a booster and your rare is like thalia or phyrexian altar and you cry because it's cometstorm again

JWiley129 says... #14

That is fake, Cursed Scroll is on the Reserved List.

February 16, 2016 12:32 p.m.

DruzakJakaria says... #15

It's a good wish list. Hopefully we get half of them.

February 16, 2016 1:14 p.m.

Heh. Pity. It was a bit too good to be true though.

Because this set is confirmed as the Summer Set like said before, it pretty much confirmed all the ill situations about foul play and the set being leaked to store. This twitter is both funny and providing MTG news, so I think it's something we should be following:

Vendor Leak Twitter

February 16, 2016 2:14 p.m.

Dorotheus What exactly is the situation there? a vendor leaked the entire list of the set? If they did where is it?

February 16, 2016 3:09 p.m.

JWiley129 says... #19

InfiniteParadoX - the tl;dr of it is someone acquired the entire set list for Eternal Masters and is auctioning it off to vendors for roughly $25k.

February 16, 2016 3:13 p.m.

Fleetwood-Mat says... #20

I'm hoping to see some key reprints like Forbid, Ensnaring Bridge, Cabal Coffers, definitely Imperial Seal and Grim Tutor (those cards need to be more accessible to people). I also noticed Vampiric Tutor isn't on the reserve list, that and Demonic Tutor both ought to be reprinted in this set. Something tells me they should just rename this set to "All the crazy stuff you've been missing for your EDH decks"

February 16, 2016 3:14 p.m.

Phaetion says... #21

Oh boy, these leaks are going to cause a massive upheaval in WOTC/Vendor relationships. Definitely the "Aurora Effect" in action.

February 16, 2016 3:30 p.m.

JWiley129 says... #22

I think it's best for us to not talk about the Vendor leak in this thread, and make a separate thread should we want to talk about that. Let's leave this thread to Eternal Masters and all the hype it so rightly deserves :)

February 16, 2016 3:32 p.m.

Dorotheus says... #23

To be fair, they are absolutely related.

February 16, 2016 4:27 p.m.

Phaetion says... #24

So, wait, is there a list circulating the Internet or no? I doubt there is, the vendors focusing more on themselves and colluding with each other to mark the prices.

February 16, 2016 4:59 p.m.

Yes, vendors are selling each other this list for mad cash to predict the market / liquidate cards that will be reprinted. Is it circulating on the internet? Definitely not. Is it worth the 25k ? Definitely not. Unless you are SCG or a huge big name vendor that has tons of these cards in stock to liquidate. Would you risk possible legal implications/ relationship distrust with players and wotc for insider trading? This essentially what is happening. Sellers are trying to adjust to a new market before the general public.

Its like telling all your buddies to sell "X" stocks off now before the company collapses or buy "X" stock now because you have a new product being released. Is anything immoral happening here? Well that depends on if those who saw the leaks signed nondisclosure agreements with WOTC otherwise its on WOTC for being idiots and not keeping a tight lid on their new product.

CMorriss says... #27

I'm really hoping they don't mess up with the print runs and 'accidentally' not print enough to keep up with the clear mass demand for this

Ill bet we get Storm Crow as a Mythic

Anyone thinking stax gets a reprint?

February 16, 2016 5:34 p.m.

mtgThaen says... #30

What other rarity could it be? Getting more than one in any draft pool would be insane. Putting two against each other is the only time we get to see what happens when you divide zero by zero. And if a person drafts multiple...well, Insta-X-0-0 is ridiculous.

February 16, 2016 5:38 p.m.

griz024 says... #31

Give on to me the tops!!! All edh decks need them.

February 16, 2016 5:47 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #35

Reserve list cards are on the rise. Blue duals have gone up 10-15%, non blue duals are up 5%, Lions Eye Diamond has doubled, Mox Diamond has tripled.

If any of you guys are thinking about getting into legacy with Eternal Masters... not sure if you should start buying in to the reserve list cards now, or if they're gonna go back down. That's your decision to make.

I would recommend staying away from ANT and 4cLoam until the market settles for LED's and Mox Diamonds.

I think that Burn, Shardless BUG and Miracles will be the most stable decks going forward, as aside from the dual lands (well, no duals in burn), there aren't any other reserve list cards.

All this being said, do not get your hopes up for cards that are staples in modern. Serum Visions, LotV, Snapcaster, Fetchlands. This set is already hyped enough, and doesn't need anymore help. Those will be saved for Modern Masters 2017.

February 16, 2016 7:05 p.m.

DuTogira says... #36

Hell, I was already getting hyped about an AEther Vial potential reprint. I don't know whether to save that hype for MM17 though or not... I mean the card isn't a staple in either format, but has augmented powerful decks in both.

February 16, 2016 9:45 p.m.

Dorotheus says... #37

I had a speculation for Tribal helpers like AEther Vial and Cavern of Souls (could still just be a reprint in SOI block too), so there is still a chance for those to be on the actual list.

Fetches however, are not something I was keeping up to speculation.

February 16, 2016 10:16 p.m.

DuTogira says... #38

If AEther Vial is reprinted in SOI, then I worry that WotC new Eldrazi would become powerful in standard and felt they needed vial just to help balance out standard. That thought scares me, so I doubt that vial will be in SOI. If they put Cavern of Souls into standard then they are pushing eldrazi too hard. I'm guessing neither will be.

February 16, 2016 10:25 p.m.

Dorotheus says... #39

Aether Vial shouldn't be in SOI.

February 16, 2016 10:33 p.m.

kyuuri117, I completely agree with that last paragraph.

February 16, 2016 11:29 p.m.

Fleetwood-Mat says... #41

no, this is Eternal Masters, and the leaked cards are Wasteland and Force of Will so far. You won't see AEther Vial or Cavern of Souls or Snapcaster Mage... it's not going to happen. Zen fetches makes sense because they are used in Vintage/Legacy decks, and since all the dual lands are on the reserve list, it's a good replacement for the duals in a set like this. I'm more expecting to see this set printing legacy and vintage staples like Tendrils of Agony, Mana Crypt, Yawgmoth's Will, Cloud of Faeries, Flash, Thawing Glaciers and all that kind of stuff. Any modern playable cards will only exist in the set if they are also vintage or legacy staples; so cards like Chalice of the Void, Grafdigger's Cage, Goryo's Vengeance or Ensnaring Bridge may be there, but don't expect the majority of this set to be modern legal. It is, however, a great set for shoring up on the commander staples you've probably been missing. I'm hoping we see both Mana Crypt and Mana Vault in this set, as well as possibly Strip Mine, Sink hole and lots of tutors; Grim Tutor and Imperial Seal mainly, since the other ones aren't that hard to get compared to those two.

This is going to be a fun set!

February 16, 2016 11:37 p.m.

I think Yawg's Will is on the reserved list.

I just really want to see Damnation. It's a cube and commander staple in every way imaginable, and both formats are on the list of things they're supporting in this, so maybe?

Jace, the Mind Sculptor likely to see a reprint as a mythic? I think so.

February 16, 2016 11:42 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #43

JTMS may or may not see a reprint. I think that Tez, Agent of Bolas will be in the set for sure though. Maybe Dack Fayden.

Grim tutor, maybe. Imperial Seal will not see a reprint. Mana Crypt and Vault would be fantastic, but I doubt it. It's very hard to make a fun sealed/draft environment with fast mana, and those are some of the fastest.

February 16, 2016 11:53 p.m.

Will we perhaps get the Modern frame Lord of Atlantis all us Merfolk players have been waiting for?

February 17, 2016 2:22 a.m.

Grantley91 says... #45

Would it be too much to ask for a Crucible of Worlds reprint?

February 17, 2016 4:42 a.m.

jamesfiek says... #46

If they use those godawful cardboard packs again I'm going to be really mad.

February 17, 2016 8:53 a.m.

They aren't. They've said that it will be good packaging.

February 17, 2016 9:04 a.m.

Rayenous says... #48

@jamesfiek - They have stated that they will not be using that packaging.

February 17, 2016 9:05 a.m.

jamesfiek says... #49

Thank god.

February 17, 2016 10:35 a.m.

Rayenous says... #50

So... Wasteland is 248 of 249... we can confirm one additional land that falls alphabetically after Wasteland.

Possible Candidates:
Watery Grave - If Shocks are in.
Windbrisk Heights - Possibly alone or part of Hideaway cycle.
Windswept Heath - We can assume not this because if Fetches are in, then Wooded Foothills would be in, and there's no room for both.
Wooded Bastion - If filter lands are in.
Yavimaya Coast - I hope not... Pain Lands don't really see play, and shouldn't be in this set.

There are other land, but I don't think they are likely enough to mention... someone else could double-check that though. I'm not overly familiar with Legacy/Vintage lands.

So, I think it can be narrowed down to Watery Grave (Shocks), Wooded Bastion (Filters), or Windbrisk Heights (possibly Hideaway cycle).

...I suppose, for the sake of Drafting, they could go with Waterveil Cavern as the cycle would take up Uncommon slots instead of Rare.. - Hopefully not.
