Do you think that there might be a set in the near future where the Phyrexians and Eldrazi face off against one another? And who would win if there was? The Phyrexians: Made of of Splicers and Metal Demons, who corrupt mana for their own twisted desires? or The Eldrazi: Colorless, Millenia-Old beings from the Blind Eternities who consume worlds and mana in their endless hunger? Discuss below your thoughts on the matter of Eldrazi vs. Phyrexians.

I'm not so sure about it happening, but hot damn I would love to see it happen!

At first I was going to say I find it unlikely.

But then I started thinking. If the theory about the Eldrazi's nature in the multiverse' ecosystem is true, they essentially recycle old, dead or dying worlds, consume them, then create new worlds filled with life to replace them. (This is a large theory with lots of evidence, but briefly: Ulamog eats whatever is left of a place that has little to not life and/or mana left on it, Kozilek warps reality to create a new, empty plane in its place, Emrakul supplies that world with life.) Thus, when Emrakul does decide it is time to free herself she will search for a dead/dying world to recycle, as although she is the most intelligent and sentient of the Titans that we know of (there's no evidence there were ever only three) she seems to be unaware that Ulamog and Kozilek are dead, or at least driven instinctively to attempt to continue her work.

Perhaps, then, the New Phyrexians, in their quest for progress and efficiency, and out of a blatant disregard for the threats posed by predatory Darwinism and mass mechanization (phyresis), in addition to infighting, they may drive their plane to a mere shell of itself, literally killing their world to facilitate total compleation and progress. This could attract Emrakul, who would attempt to begin her recycling.

Without Ulamog or Kozilek, the same thing would happen here as did on Innistrad. But, if there are more Titans, who perhaps come to her aid, then they could really begin their planar destruction, and we could see what they're truly capable of, as it can be argued all three of them held back to a degree on Zendikar, and they were somewhat aware that the plane did not need to be recycled, as Emrakul may have on Innistrad. Either way, the New Phyrexians would naturally have a problem with their plane being destroyed, and so they would fight against them. Phyrexian Allies, anyone?

But this is all dependent on whether that is the true nature of the Eldrazi.

This discussion has been fielded a few times here before.

Basically, the Phyrexians have no way of infecting the eldrazi, their main way of taking over a plane, since their fleshy bodies are just manifestations of their consciousness. (Exception: when kozilek and ulamog were bound into their bodies because of bad writing)

Meaning that the eldrazi would likely just roflstomp the phyrexians and call it a day.
