If Mardu is as token based as we've seen from some of these spoilers, this could be pretty good.

DarkHero says... #3

why do tokens have anything to do with it?

I assume you can sac one for each on any given turn. So sac 3 creatures and he gets vig. lifelink and haste. Oh yea, hes good.

This card is insane as is as a 4cmc 5/4 flier. Tack on the bonus abilities and go crazy

......Femme_Fatale NEW ARISTOCRAT DEMON

September 9, 2014 11:31 a.m.

jchudz says... #8

whoops, not that it's all that relevant, but it should read sacrifice another creature

It's especially busted that he's a 5/4 flier for 4 with no downsides other than 3 color mana cost...

If you've played at least 1 creature each turn before he's a turn 4 5/4 with haste vigilance and lifelink...

I...am frothing from the mouth right now

Rayenous says... #12

T2: Raise the Alarm
T3: Mardu Charm for 2x Tokens
T4: This guy... sac 1 token for haste, sac one token for vigilance... swing with all remaining... Sac another for Lifelink if needed.

September 9, 2014 11:39 a.m.

VampireArmy says... #13

I could shed a tear....bigger body, lifegain, no bolting, can block and attack....

September 9, 2014 11:41 a.m.

weisemanjohn says... #14

Play some Raise the Alarm fodder and he's a beast, and the first turn is the only one haste matters. So 2 sacs a turn after that

jr92_2000 says... #15

Yeah, this guy is awesome.

From what we've seen, Mardu and Abzan seem like the strongest clans.

September 9, 2014 11:42 a.m.

Quadsimotto says... #16

This is frigging sweet. Four drop?this guy with the ascendancy and rabble master? plus charm and crackling doom? Jeeze i see mardu looking really damn good right about now.
I was originally thinking i would go abzan but now i'm tossed between mardu and temur. I know i will be passing on sultai but before its all said and done ill have whored my way through almost every clan thinking "yeah ill play that"

September 9, 2014 11:43 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #17

I'll think about it VampireArmy. I have classes to go to soon and 10 new cards to add. I'm also working on the proper method of making a modern grixis deck, that is, without Cruel Ultimatum . It is working quite well.

September 9, 2014 11:43 a.m.

Casino647 says... #18

And you can sac 3 dudes to get vigilance, lifelink AND haste!

September 9, 2014 11:45 a.m.

If only we could use angelic Accord with this bad boy. Seriously, I love everything about this card. The only thing that would make this better is if damage still went by the stack.

I love this. It's gotta be my favorite nonland card spoiled so far.

Well, I'm playing aristocrats this season. Is this a Rare or Mythic?

September 9, 2014 2:43 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #23

I submitted this card to the database...hopefully I got everything right. We'll have to wait until someone approves it

September 9, 2014 2:56 p.m.

JWiley129 says... #24

Jp3ngu1nb0y - It's a regular old rare, nothing mythic about it.

September 9, 2014 2:57 p.m.

Bellock86 says... #25

Am I the only one thinking this guy is a finisher in and of himself. Lots of other cards just enable this guy.

Ajani Steadfast in play means you don't have to sac past the first turn the demon is out. And that's not even close to the most degenerate thing you could do with this guy.

And that body. This guy is a beast. I was really hoping sultai would be strong but I cant deny Mardu and Abzan any longer. Decisions, decisions.

September 9, 2014 4:06 p.m.

MindAblaze says... #26

I was thinking curve topping game ender myself. He's going to eat removal spells left and right I think. Luckily he'll probably get in for five first.

Turn four this guy, turn five Stormbreath seems scary.

September 9, 2014 4:33 p.m.

Murpy says... #27

turn one: tormented hero. Turn two: swing, opponent at 18, war name aspirant. Turn three: rabblemaster, swing for 6, opponent at 12. Turn three, butcher, sac a goblin for haste, attack for 14. living the standard dream

September 9, 2014 4:43 p.m.

I wanna Mindslaver someone that has this guy out.

September 9, 2014 4:44 p.m.

Murpy says... #29

haha that would be amazing.if only you could pay life for the same effect....

September 9, 2014 4:48 p.m.

This puts Modern Aristocrats into a new light, if not anything else.

September 9, 2014 4:59 p.m.

Murpy says... #31

I still dont think its a viable deck, unfortunately. Have any of you guys had any success with it?

September 9, 2014 5:01 p.m.

slovakattack says... #32

VampireArmy: I really don't want to burst your bubble, but I don't think this guy really helps Aristocrats all that much. Think about what slot he fills: One inhabited by an arguably better creature, Falkenrath Aristocrat .

If Aristocrat's problem was finding a 4-drop game-ender, then he would be perfect... but it's not. He 'fixes' a problem that, well... doesn't exist. He's an awesome toy, don't get me wrong, but I'm really unsure that he is what Aristocrats needs to be viable.

If he had haste, and Falkenrath Aristocrat didn't, this would be a different story as he'd be turning the Aristoract clock by a turn... but that isn't the case. He has a bigger body, but Falkenrath Aristocrat has indestructible. The one thing he does have over her is Lifelink, but... yeah.

September 9, 2014 5:06 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #33

slovakattack : You're forgetting one very important thing.

He's a 5/4. she's a 4/1. He is not in reach of bolt. He can sac for lifelink and recoup our life, he can gain vigilance and stick around to block, and gain first strike to block favorably. He's literally 1 of very few missing links my brew needed as those are exactly the things I've ever lost to.

September 9, 2014 5:09 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #34

Sorry EDIT: Not first strike. was thinking of something else. With aristocrats, you have gravecrawlers, bloodghast, tokens, and doomed traveler. He'll always have haste

September 9, 2014 5:11 p.m.

slovakattack says... #35

VampireArmy: But that's just my point. He'll always have haste, but so will Aristocrat. Yes, he's out of range of bolt, but so is Aristocrat.

I guess he does have the lifelink, though. That'll probably help immensely against aggro.

I've always loved Aristocrats... I just wish there was a human version of gravecrawler :[

September 9, 2014 5:15 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #36

You are forgetting something VampireArmy, she has indestructible. He doesn't. So whereas he can easily be removed the turn he attacks, she can't. And like you said, with aristocrats, you will always have creatures to sacrifice, so she'll always have indestructible.

September 9, 2014 5:17 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #37

Not really. She's only out of range as long as you have guys. If someone goes Anger of the Gods one turn then bolts turn after, she's fucked. I advocate for running both main deck by the way. I'm doing 2-2 split as I was already running Olivia Voldaren which was shifted to the sideboard for jund matches. He plugs a hole in limiting what kind of spot removal works against me. I no longer have to sac a dude in response to bolt, helix, or anything of that sort. That in itself makes RDW and Burn waaaay more winnable

September 9, 2014 5:20 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #38

Also, can you present me a copy of that image you used VampireArmy? If you get this wrong the first time, the listing system will be messed up for anywhere from a week to month or more. Listing system means deck-lists, set-lists, illegal cards lists and updates lists.

September 9, 2014 5:30 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #39

I can't atm. I'm away from the computer. If you want to bin the image I'm cool with that. There's one on magic spoiler which is where i got mine

September 9, 2014 5:47 p.m.

MindAblaze says... #40

The only relevant removal I can think that hits him are Path to Exile , Vapor Snag and Dismember , and all of those are going to deal with Falkenrath Aristocrat just as easily. Bounce is a nice trick when it's in response to saccing a creature for the haste though.

September 9, 2014 6:40 p.m.

subrosian says... #41

Well, I like it better than Desecration Demon , that's for sure. 6/6 flying for 4 only needing black mana is so broken. This is much more reasonable.

I really wanna make a Black/White token deck splashing red for this and Mardu Ascendancy . Triplicate Spirits , Sorin, Solemn Visitor , Raise the Alarm ... Hmmm

VampireArmy says... #43

Blue/white/red kiki control is actually one of the worst matchups you can have with that deck..I've lost so many matches.even when Playing with full focus. Bolt and helix and path are what they run. Only one of those things gets me without them trading multiple cards unless cryptic
