1 card reprint per wedge

So with some khans spoilers just popping the last few weeks I was wondering what are some old cards that would match up with the new wedges

Abzan: White/Black/Green, previously called junk, abzan, is about how dragons control and endure, I'm surprised how they are the control one when blue has almost always been the control color.

Jeskai: White/Blue/Red, good old America, jeskai relies on the cunning of the dragons, maybe there will be some new flash cards.

Sultai: Blue/Black/Green, bug a personal favorite of mine, sultai, is all about the ruthlessness of the dragons.

Mardu: White/Black/Red, hasn't had a previous name before (that I know of) and hasn't been a super popular color combo yet (again not any that I've seen) maybe khans will change that, mardu is the Aggro clan that values the speed of the dragons.

Temur: Blue/Red/Green, I'm expecting some new fight cards because they are focused on the savagery of dragons. I for one I'm glad they went with a unique route for this one because I didn't expect savagery, but they'll definitely be cool.

Now seeing about the clans what is one card that you'd like that to be reprinted (not based on monetary value but more of flavor perspective.) I'd love to see what you guys throw out there, also try and be unique with this don't try and throw out stuff no one would expect.

W/B/R has been unofficially called "Dega" for years now and has had its fair share of popularity in Modern and Standard in the past years, as well as always being a typically disruptive, crushing-blow kind of deck.

I wonder if the emphasis on the endurance of the Abzan was meant to justify Doran, the Siege Tower 's ability of using toughness as an advantage.

IIRC, "Dega" was just a set-specific lore name (much like with Kalonian Behemoth , Kalonian Tusker , etc.) that just happened to include some White cards that had some synergy with Black and Red. The reason people started calling it that is because there was a W/B/R deck with some of those cards in it, and the "street name" for the deck, if you will, was "Dega". Since then, it stuck.

Lightning Angel is a boss. I doubt they'd reprint it, but it would be cool to have something similar.

Regarding "Dega", etc., there were 5 wedge "factions" in the Apocalypse expansion (3rd set of the Invasion block, the first multicolor block):

  • Dega: W/B/R
  • Ceta: U/R/G
  • Necra: B/G/W
  • Raka: R/W/U
  • Ana: G/U/B

Using these names for things is just like using the Shard names from Alara (Bant, Esper, Grixis, Jund, Naya) or the Guild names from Ravnia (you know what they are).

-shrug-

Maybe.

It would be kinda neat to see some newer non-Standard cards that we've all used and brewed with suddenly become Standard legal.
