What's in a name

I like seeing stories behind people's user names, there's plenty of interesting ones, thread for people to share about your names.

Personally I have this username out of habit, I made it when I was in middle school playing runescape and thought that being an "asasinater" sounded cool for the game. The name was taken and 13 is part of my birthday, so this was what I came up with. It's easier to keep one name to remember so here we are like 9 years later.

anyone have interesting stories for how you came to the username you use?

I notice my name is hard to see in the forum post because it's black. asasinater13.

First initial, last name. When I come up with something original, I'll use it instead.

I like Suzuya Juuzou. And he has red body stitching so -x-Juuzou-x-x- just kinda happened to reflect my recent obsession with Tokyo ghoul.

I normally use nickname Luutarhuri but that was already taken (and that's weird because it's not a common nick to have. I think the other account might actually be my own I just forgot I ever made it :D).

It's finnish and it's a word play.

Luu = bone

Puutarha = garden

Puutarhuri = gardener

So... like... bonedener? Well, graveyard shift for me anyway.

Normally I like to use different nicks that refers to different deitys. Freyr, Caerus, Cronos, Amaterasu, Vanir, etc. but those are almost always taken so Luutarhuri has been the one to go if that happens... and then this happened :D

Sparda1127 says... #8

I've always been a huge fan of the Devil May Cry games, so I sorta took over Dante and Virgil's father's name, Sparda.

When I was in middle school, we were given student numbers to use for lunch and whatnot, and mine was 1127563. "Eleven Twenty-Seven" just rolls off the tongue so well that I kinda stuck it on the end.

My username came from the deck I ran when I got back into magic during Scars block. I ran a boros deck that had a lot of knights and creatures with battlecry.

Out of pure randomness. Because watermelons and famous popped into my head one day at around the same time when I was making an account.

I used to have my own small sailboat, two-person, but crewable by one, with room for maybe four if we crowded in... it was a fun boat. Anyway, FinchFalcon was it's name.

I'm gonna take Epochalyptik because I've always been interested in how he came to that name with the spelling it has.

Well, I wanted a new and unique deck box, so I made some out of duct tape. Shortly after I stumbled across T/O.

CommanderOfBolas you know there's a subscribe button on the bottom of the comments section of posts so you don't have to comment to get subscribed, right?

In the beginning of time my username was benjamin_is_nuts. It was part of a joke against one friend of mine here at the site. Later on I changed to Blind_Guardian. I have been a big fan of the german melodic-metal band for many years. Perhaps I will change again in the future, who knows? Only time will tell.

My name OtakulordAndrew comes from the fact that I'm a literal otaku (someone who prioritises his hobbies in his spare time over having a social life). The title of lord was an interesting development due to the fact that at my local game store I had a very strong knowledge on Anime, visual novels, videogames, light novels, and manga, along with the fact that I openly acknowledged myself as an otaku led to people referring to me as the lord of otaku at the store although they where referring to the english use of the term which simply refers to someone who likes japanese entertainment such as anime, manga, etc. In the end the title stuck so I started using it as my username combined with my first name.

CommanderOfBolas has had a 4 day long midterm. let's all take a moment of silence for him :P

March 30, 2015 11:28 p.m.

lol tagged myself, then forgot. I did nearly die. for the record, though, there were multiple midterms, a 5-page English paper, a 3 page philosophy paper, and map test on Europe, and a few other things that my brain is too fried to remember....I need a break....

Anyway, personal troubles aside, my username used to be my first initial and last name. After reaching the top100, I decided to reward myself with an upgrade. I wanted a new username, too, so I began to thin of what would be good. I knew it had to be Grixis related because Grixis is my domain (Shameless plug: Beats, by Bolas, got 3rd last fnm with this beauty). so I figured I needed something to show I was more Grixis than Nicol Bolas. Hence, CommanderOfBolas.

I hope that was worth the wait. sorry if it wasn't. actually, no im not. my head hurts.

I have no idea why kameenook was my Guild Wars 1 username, but since then I have always been Kamee Nook (yes, there is a space).
