I have finally joined the superior crew of having an average deck rating of 30! WOOT!

Now watch as it plummets down to 20 again as I finish making my 5 or so new decks.

GoldGhost012 says... #2

Damn, I've got to get around to deleting old decks that are weighing that score down.

Femme_Fatale says... #3

Damn you standard people and your high average scores.

I still have many of my, less that 10 score, casual decks though, so I have advantage with that, AND being almost purely modern~ (few legacy decks, one edh)

Femme_Fatale says... #4

Have the handicap* so it is more impressive than you standard people.

August 14, 2014 10:43 p.m.

Caligula says... #5

Why the standard hate?

It's a fun, competitive format I find.

Not to mention you don't have to drop 600+ dollars for a competitive deck :P

Plus it really gives the chance to set new trends with decks and archetypes.

GoldGhost012 says... #6

Hey now, my highest ranked deck is an EDH deck.

It often baffles me how Standard decks get more love in +1s when they often last less than a year than Modern decks that can last forever. And let's not get into EDH.

Femme_Fatale says... #10

Yeah I did that with my RDW deck like, 7 months ago. STILL have yet to fix my deck description for it. In the mean-time I'm perfectly fine making a lot of new decks and completely changing existing ones.

August 14, 2014 11:09 p.m.

Spootyone says... #11

GoldGhost012: I do wish EDH decks got more love. The amount of time I put into those to painstakingly remove one card at a time is so much more than saying 4x Temple Garden , 4x Temple of Plenty ...etc.... lol

I only have a 21.50 rating, I thought it was pretty good :c

tempest says... #13

all the tribal decks with only 2-3 scores are also weighing down my average :/ hamiam has a crazy average as does Epochalyptik lol

...maybe if i change my name color to red...

August 15, 2014 1:18 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #14

That's because hamiam has only 3 decks, one of which is a joke deck, which the T/O community LOVES more than they do standard decks. He also like, featured it every single day since the decks creation ... I'm wondering how much money he spent on feature tokens for that >.> Probably could have bought a Tarmogoyf with that money <.<

Epochalyptik also has a relatively few decks, but he gets his score mainly from being one of the most active users, and a well-known site admin.

How many decks do you need to have, to get in this club? I have an avg. rating of 32,50 but only 6 decks...

August 15, 2014 1:38 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #16

I'd say 15+ decks. That way it is fair, to an extent at least. Also, all your decks need to have at least 3 points in them, because otherwise, they may not be counted in your average.

August 15, 2014 1:40 a.m.

Unforgivn_II says... #17

Fun Fact

Unrated decks don't count in your average. So wait until someone else upvotes your deck before you vote it up yourself.

I'm happy around 10. I have some old decks that got up to 30+ but they either aren't Standard anymore, or are just bad. I made em private, but I don't know how that effects my rating. And I need to do a little cleanup too, some of my decks BLOW

August 15, 2014 1:43 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #18

I did a clean up a while back. A golgari elf pod deck, RUG sliver deck, mono red goblins and an orzhov token deck all got the ax.

Also, I never notice any average change for when you yourself upvote the deck. I don't think it even counts in the total average. I'll have to check up on that.

August 15, 2014 1:50 a.m.

Unforgivn_II says... #19

This just in - Private decks don't count in your average either (their score isn't on the deck pgae once you make it private). Time to open the vault...

As far as seeing the average change, I wouldn't be surprised if you have to wait for the site to reset like you do with your T/O Rank.

August 15, 2014 1:52 a.m.

tempest says... #20

I used to be obsessed with my score. Your score does rise when you upvote your own deck, but plummets if you're the first to upvote it lol

August 15, 2014 1:56 a.m.

I always switch decks really quickly so instead of a few getting high scores and the rest not counting towards it I have a bunch of 10 upvote decks.

Yeah those joke decks get a shit ton of attention, It's silly.

I think the only one I found humorous is the Storm Crow one.. Which I beleive The Doctor is responsible for :P

But making your descriptors fun and having a theme that people can relate to always helps (As with my 2 top decks, vai Futuama and Prof. Farnsworth and Star Trek :P)

August 15, 2014 8:55 a.m.

....Maybe it's not The Doctor who has that Storm Crow deck...

Now I don't know who does :P

Average deck rating makes me angry. I will turn every deck name I have to a dick joke if people don't start upvoting me....

Congratulations on the milestone though! If you have any words of wisdom for those of us who lack exposure, please do tell!

I consistently joke about it though, Caligula, which is why you probably thought it was me.

Haha yes you are right The Doctor I think your fascination with the storm crow had me fooled =p

Femme_Fatale says... #32

Basically OcelotProblems, is to go competitive or joke, be creative or overpowered, have a catchy title, and have a really superior description. The Grim Reaper is Stalking Us .... wins views because of the name, and gets upvotes because of its competitiveness and superior description, whereas Kor Legions is really creative and has a superior description.

August 16, 2014 12:47 a.m.

I have an average deck rating of 2.00. No joke.

Folders?

August 17, 2014 12:21 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #36

Krayhaft has a bunch of unfinished, uncategorized, and un-feature-carded decks. And ooo! One of my decks in his "cool decks" folder~

August 17, 2014 12:23 p.m.

Krayhaft says... #37

Oh, yeah. The folder I have 'cool decks' is just filled with copypastas from other users on decks with really neat ideas that I liked.

I tend to start building decks and never finish them. It's gotten so bad that I've had to create folders for different color combinations of EDH decks ideas I've had, all unbuilt and unfinished....

August 17, 2014 10:44 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #38

I'm pretty good with my deck-lists. It is just updating them to look nicer I have problems with. I also have a bunch of landfall ideas that I need to put down, and I had a few others I should have written down as well but they are long forgotten. Bleh.

32.57 average score. 8 decks posted, two private.

August 27, 2014 8:55 p.m.

Guys, my average deck rating is all I am in life. I want to know how I can immerse myself further in the ranking systems of a moderate-traffic Internet website so as to be seen as elite among its frequent users. Teach me your ways.

August 27, 2014 9:15 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #42

Make really really good deck descriptions. I'm talking Solomon style, those descriptions are the only way his decks get such high ratings.

Make an interesting and catchy title. This is one of my strengths.

Make the deck either really competitive, make it budget competitive, or make it unique. Kor Legions is all three of these, so that is why it is one of the top rated decks on T/O. I'm nearly on to the second page of top decks of all time!

Or just make a joke deck, and be hated by me.

August 27, 2014 9:25 p.m.

What I need to do is figure out how to make those cool graphics with plus signs and appealing arrangements of cards that Solomon puts on his deck descriptions. Those are nifty.

Photoshop. Or hey, you can actually use paint.
