umm, am i the only one that sees a black curtain on that 1/1 squirrel token?

June 17, 2015 3:56 p.m.

Nope. Some tokens aren't in the database yet, I'm guessing.

Thank you mr. go. This is very helpful.

Now I can start putting the tokens in. One day.

Or maybe a lot sooner than I expected :D:D:D:D:D

Wish I had thought of asking earlier, but would it be feasible in the future for decklists to produce a list of tokens they could produce?

I know I'm not the only player who keeps a stack of tokens that my deck could produce with the deck, only to find out during the course of the game that I am missing one.

However, thinking about the logistics of it, it sounds like someone would have to go through every card in the database and figure out how to assign tokens to it. Which would be a lot of work for potentially very little payoff. It would be really cool, though.

June 17, 2015 10:32 p.m.

Theoretically, the site already knows which cards make which tokens (apart from a few missing entries) because that's how it populates token lists in the playtester.

June 17, 2015 10:34 p.m.

yeaGO says... #11

absolutely feasible.

also, you have my favorite username on the whole site.

AGunWithLegs says... #12

Yay! I thought it would be super hard.

@yeaGO, thanks! It has been my XBL gamertag for over 10 years.

0/1 Eldrazi Spawn 5/5 Dragon 4/4 Dragon 3/3 Golem

Neat!

Is there any easy-to-remember way to know what the 'default' token is for each type? (also, I noticed that 'gold' doesn't work - is it only for token creatures right now?)

June 19, 2015 12:23 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #14

yeaGO, I haven't done much fiddling or testing yet, but how do you account for various differences between tokens, like for example a spirit versus a spirit? Not everyone is going to know which token came from which set, and I'm only going to be populating the images with the most recently released versions of the tokens, so going by set isn't that useful.

June 19, 2015 4:29 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #15

Actually, I will not be able to fix any of the token images on this site. I do not have access to the token image database.

June 19, 2015 5:22 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #16

I also don't have access to be able to actually add a subtype to any of the tokens, so I can't add new tokens.

Nor do I have access to be able to delete duplicates of tokens. We got 3 4/4 white angels, and only one has an image. >.>

Similar issues with 2/2 white cats, 5/5 black demons, 4/4 red dragons, 6/6 red dragons, 1/1 red elementals, 3/1 red elementals, 1/0 blue elementals, 3/3 green elephant, 1/1 green elf druids, 1/1 blue faeries ... and many more as I'm just going to post this right now and get the rest of the list populated slowly.

Also, what's "convert to question" on the admin page?

June 19, 2015 10:55 p.m.

yeaGO says... #17

added that priv.

converts a thing to a mtg question, but its a bug. please don't use it it will probably just take the whole site down.

duplicate tokens....? link? are you sure its not different printings or something

June 19, 2015 11:16 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #18

I have no way to check printings. None of the tokens should even have printings as that was never a feature on them considering it wasn't even needed and it doesn't show up as any different on your preview when you tried to demonstrate linking different printings.

Also, as I've said before, no one knows of different token printings really, and we shouldn't need them as much unless we are going to actually put tokens into each set database for easier categorizing. As it is, it is best to only have one image per token, because there's no way to check which token belongs to which printing. The only thing that we need to differentiate is different token colours when linking them here via syntax.

This image shows two 1/1 red elementals. There's a third down the page but that has haste. These probably were different printings, but there's no way to dictate beyond the card that the tokens were linked to.

as a note. T/O does not recognize Hazezon Tamar's tokens.

June 25, 2015 4:43 p.m.

brokendwarf says... #20

There weren't tokens printed for Hazezon Tamar.

June 25, 2015 4:46 p.m.

Sainted says... #21

brokendwarf I still need mah damn tokens!

June 25, 2015 4:47 p.m.

brokendwarf says... #22

If you can add custom token artwork like you can for other cards, this one is pretty cool.

June 25, 2015 4:50 p.m.

WickedPikachu says... #23

how do you add tokens so that in your deck's play testing thingy they show up?

June 25, 2015 6:39 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #24

You cannot add custom artwork to the tokens brokendwarf and I do not think you can add the to deck lists WickedPikachu as they aren't actually in the card database.

June 25, 2015 10:23 p.m.

WickedPikachu says... #25

thx but I meant that, on the play testing feature, a lot of decks have a section on tokens you can add to the battlefield in the bottom left corner. I was just wondering how that worked, I can't seem to find the feature that puts the tokens there

Femme_Fatale says... #28

Only when there are tokens that are linked to cards will the token button pop-up in the playtester. But it may be a while before I get to the tokens as I spend the 1-3 hours I have everyday adding the spoiled cards to our database.

EDIT: That and I still don't have full privileges on the token database. I'm waiting till I get access to add images to tokens.

revwildo says... #29

I know of quite a few cards that don't have their associated tokens available in the playtester. If I were to post a list of those cards, would it be useful to the person in charge of linking them?

July 26, 2015 1:13 p.m.

yeaGO says... #30

yes

July 26, 2015 1:51 p.m.

pryoplasm says... #31

Reef Wurm seems to be missing the tokens associated with it

July 26, 2015 8:05 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #32

No it wouldn't revwildo, unless yeago is willing to do them himself that is. I still can't add tokens since I don't have the full privs to them.

July 26, 2015 10:52 p.m.

revwildo says... #33

Necromancer's Stockpile - 2/2 Zombie, Waste Not - 2/2 Zombie, Corpseweft - token: / zombie horror, Triplicate Spirits - 1/1 Spirit, Launch the Fleet - 1/1 Soldier, Secure the Wastes - 1/1 Warrior, Feral Incarnation - 3/3 Beast, Goblin Rabblemaster - 1/1 Goblin, Hydra Broodmaster - token: / hydra

There are more, but I'm tired of typing for now. yeaGO, Let me know if the formatting needs to change.

July 26, 2015 11:40 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #34

revwildo, actually, pretty much anything from RTR and onward needs token fixing, as nothing has been done about any of them.

I'm still wondering whether or not yeaGO is actually going to do these himself.

July 27, 2015 11:36 p.m.

yeaGO says... #35

they can be catalogued here

SlapChopNinja says... #37

So I made a deck with Zendikar's Roil but there's no option to add tokens to the battlefield. Is there a way to fix this?

July 29, 2015 10:31 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #38

Not until yeago gives me the privs SlapChopNinja. Or he does it himself.
