Treasure Cruise in Pauper

Pauper forum

I have utterly no idea about any of Pauper's deck structure or meta game, but I have a feeling that if Treasure Cruise is making such a massive impact in modern and showing up in legacy, that it would show up just as easily in Pauper.

Thoughts? Is Treasure Cruise good in Pauper? Is it as ban worthy in Pauper as people are making it out to be in Modern? Let's get a discussion rolling in this dead forum!

The metas are very different (between pauper and modern / legacy) but I think blue is already one of the top deck components so this will do nothing to help the format diverify haha.

Personally, it might be a little slow. I play UR Delver, which can consistently win T3-T4. In order for Treasure Cruise to be cheap enough, I'd need 7 cards in the grave. I suppose I could cast it in the late game, but I'd prefer Preordain , Brainstorm or Ponder , as it can find me the Apostle's Blessing or Assault Strobe I need. They all dig through the same amount of cards if you need them to, yet Cruise needs a lot of set up to cost only 1 while the others don't.

Mono-U might use it, but it doesn't fill up the grave nearly as quickly as UR Delver does.

Then again, I haven't played Pauper since before Khans was out.

I mean, it is Delver. I think I would know. Sure it uses other creatures, but so does any "Delver" deck.

Anyway, there may be some room for brewing with Cruise and Faithless Looting

It is not as format-warping in Pauper, but mono U control and RUG tron will enjoy a couple of copies for sure.
