Eventide Mimics?

Pauper forum

I was wondering if anyone has broken the mimics from Eventide. I feel like they have some potential, but I haven't seen any pauper decklists with them. In case you don't know the mimics from eventide they are Nightsky Mimic Shorecrasher Mimic Riverfall Mimic Battlegate Mimic and Woodlurker Mimic.

I don't play pauper but I will ask a question that may lead to the answer of why you haven't seen them. How many enemy colored commons are playable in pauper? I would bet on there not being a high enough concentration to consistently trigger the abilities. Without the abilities they are simply pikers.

Well you're not wrong. A lot of the best multicolored cards are at least uncommons.

Nightsky Mimic has seen some play. There's some decent support for it. The other Mimic's seem bad in themselves or, yeah, just don't have enough support to swing it.

I've tried the Nightsky build. It can go off quick and is powerful. However, if he is removed the deck suffers greatly.

Ah, I'm not surprised. I've had some success with Nightsky Mimic in a casual modern setting.

For some reason I want to play the Golgari guy. But there's dookie for support. Or maybe I missed some cards.

No you're right, there's dookie for support lol it's kind of the way I feel about Shorecrasher Mimic. I'd love to make a deck for that, but so far everything I've come up with requires a god hand.

One of my friends runs a pauper deck based of Nightsky Mimic and some extort, because of the good cards and cheap cards you can find in B and W (Edge of the Divinity Unmake Tithe Drinker Kingpin's Pet). If you enchant Nightsky Mimic with Edge of the Divinity you can consistently attack with a 7/7 from turn 3 on.

Hell yeah, that Nightsky Mimic+Edge of the Divinity is brutal haha Unmake is growing on me. It's kind of weird coming from modern though, where Path to Exile makes it look absolutely terrible.

I run a deck I call Nightsky Divinity, the main pieces being Nightsky Mimic and Edge of the Divinity. The rest of the deck is WB creatures that get suited up with various auras to swing big. It's voltron-y, but also can spread its forces out a bit bc the deck runs 20 odd creatures.

Now I remember there was one gentleman on Tappedout that did make a build with Shorecrasher Mimic. He said he was thrashing Modern decks with it. Forget what the title was. It seemed fast and powerful. But again, I knew if Shore got waxed the game is over.
