MTGO, Surface Pro 3, Retaining Priority

I have a Surface Pro 3 without a keyboard. I know that you have to hold the control key in MTGO to "retain priority" when casting a spell. Unfortunately, this is not working for me... I bring up the keyboard, hold the control key, cast the spell, but then priority is immediately passed... Any suggestions? I really want to be able target my fetchlands with Boom, for example, and then fetch for another land without having to destroy my own land, etc. Thanks much!

not sure if you have a solution for this without investing in a wireless device...the type cover for it works great. i use mine without much negative experiences.

there is also an issue with the combo, Boom would have an illegal target if you fetch with it, and be countered.
