Just got on MTGO.

So I broke and recently bought a PC to play MTGO. I got my old account running again. I found that I had a bunch of old cards. I sold them, got a bunch of tickets and bought some pauper cards.

I built mono black devotion for pauper.

Now what?

I know that I am going to start playing in dailies to start trying to accumulate tickets. The end result; to gain the amount of tickets needed to build Jund in modern as well as put together a decent legacy deck.

Are there any pointers to make this move quickly?

I am all ears. Also, my MTGO username is fdc. Add me if you would like.

It will likely be more difficult with them bumping up the prices for Dailies in an upcoming update. But go for it.

Right now I am going to do a bunch of phantom drafts and sealed events to get the 5-card packs. (I guess I have a couple hundred player points). I read somewhere that you can sell the packs for tix, which i guess helps you get a decent collection of event tickets going.

I am just looking for some pointers on how to accumulate a decent amount of tickets rather quickly (I would need around 1000 to build modern Jund).

I am also not above buying some of the cards with actual money, but I would like to avoid it as much as possible.

Yeah, if you still have the New-Player points, I would use those. I used my last points on an M15 4-person draft and opened a Nissa, Worldwaker from my packs for a cool 33 tickets (at the time).

But according to Gerry Thompson, the way you're going about this is correct. Grind the (Constructed) Dailies, get packs, trade for tickets, get Tarmogoyf...I mean money.

Lol. At least I am not spending as much as i actually did on Goyf. Liliana of the veil, not he other hand... I got my playset at 15 each. I am a little salty about paying current price for them.

jund modern and legacy should run you less than 200 tix total i think. check out the mtgo traders website. i have found their pricing to be decent. I also might have some stuff online for trade if you are interested.

gnarlicide - Btw, I also play Pauper on MTGO, so if you want to test decks just hit me up. My MTGO name is the same as it is here.

Hey guys, awesome. I actually picked up my pauper deck from MTGOTraders.com. They have Liliana of the veil at 97 tix, last night when I looked. Lol, I was hoping to just build modern Jund right there. hahaha, first world magic problems.

As far as trading goes, the only two cards that I have picked up that are of note are a MM2 Emrakul and a MM2 Etched Champion. I don't really have much. I let a few trade bots rout through my stuff already. They took a lot. I went from 1000 cards to around 700. I mean, I have a set of Sleight of Hand still. If people actually want that.

Apparently, having close to 35 Remand from Ravnica, City of Guilds (12 of which were foil) helped out my ticket scenario quite a bit, lol.

hah i bet that helped ;)

if you see anything for less than 1 ticket you can just have it, dont need to trade/pay. maybe that helps to boost the pauper deck and speed up the grind or w/e
