i find it bothersome when i intentionally join a match or a draft on mtgo and get matched with people who don't have a clue how 2/3 works i gotta burn my time while they sit there thinking the game has ended

Man, is that why people run down the sideboard timer? Always wondered about that.

Cockatrice is completely legal....it's a free program and they don't make money from it. It's 100x better than mtgo as well.

Your point? It's still better, whether or not it's legal. And it's not illegal to use it yourself; it's illegal for them to be running it (though copyright and fair usage laws are already extremely ambiguous and cloudy).

The problem with trice is 2 things.
The people on it are just terrible.
It has almost 0 user interface. Everything that happens in the game must be done manually by both you and the opponent which becomes very tedious.

@VampireArmy My experience has been a little bit different.
I generally greet people by saying "Hi! gl and hf", and I would say 50% or less of opponents don't respond. Those matches are generally less interactive in terms of conversation, and less fun as a result. The others, where my opponents respond with varying degrees of joviality are more enjoyable and I would have to say the general experience is positive.
While everything must be done my users, what more can you expect from a free software? There's a limit to what you can do with the resources available.

thispersonisagenius : I don't expect much from it. I was simply highlighting a reason to not be on it. If you're willing to deal with non interactive games and a bad interface, there's nothing wrong with that but that also doesn't mean it should be painted as anything other than it is. A bad place to play mtg for those who don't enjoy ignorant people and having to do every little thing by hand while hoping your opponent understands the rules enough to do the same.

There's no way MTGO is better than Trice. That's just hilarious. MTGO is the worst magic program I've used.

Trice is free but relies on both parties knowing the rules not cheating etc
Mtgo requires funding and hasmoderators payed to support the players on anything they need help with
Both have their merits but its the same as arguing going to the cinema and buying a pirate dvd

Yeah mtgo sucks pretty bad. Why don't they spend the resources to make it better? Leagues haven't worked in years and that's what I liked the most about it.

Why the hell did I get summoned? I don't play mtgo just because I want physical cards rather than digital.
