Finisher against Ensnaring Bridge and other such combat denial strategies, I imagine.

It's a blowout against other small creature strategies, like delver and the mirror.

It's an amazing card. It completely destroys any strategy using X/1s (mirror, infect, lingering souls), it's a great way to utilize useless artifacts in the late game against control or midrange (I'd only board 1 in though, you don't want to draw the second versus grixis or junk). It can get past attacking locks from ensnaring bridge, ghostly prison, etc.

Stony Silence insurance, for the most part. With Affinity being the foremost linear deck, most sideboards feature at least a modicum of artifact hate, and decks that carry carry Stony, which can render Affinity useless without Grid.
