what is the best land other than Hallowed Fountain

i realised if i replace my Galvanic Blast's with Dispatch i've no more need for Shivan Reef in my deck as the only other red card in my 75 is sideboard tech which can still be cast with Mox Opal and Springleaf Drum

Celestial Colonnade is better for control decks, but Seachrome Coast is great in low land, fast decks.

Um? Flooded Strand?

Adarkar Wastes?

tyforthevenom says... #4

i don't want fountain due to Sundering Titan being a thing

February 15, 2015 5:13 a.m.

JexInfinite says... #5

bijschjdbcd Fetches are good when you want consistency, meaning you add 4 of them. If you want 1 or 2, Seachrome Coast and Adarkar Wastes are pretty good. Coast is better for faster decks, but if you play slower, Wastes is better in the late game if you only need the coloured mana once or twice.

oh and it's for affinity

Link to the deck so we have more context?

i don't have it loaded on t/o right now and i'm getting ready for game day

February 15, 2015 5:16 a.m.

JexInfinite says... #9

If you have a basic Island, that should be enough. You have 4 Mox Opal and 4 Springleaf Drum so coloured mana shouldn't be an issue. Sundering Titan is also not really played by anyone except U-Tron, so don't worry about it.

February 15, 2015 5:19 a.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #10

I know that Flooded Strand are better as a 4 of but I was implying that it is the best UW Land.

If they Sundering Titan you you are probably loosing that game anyway.

tyforthevenom says... #11

i have 2 drums not 4, it's in 3 tron decks not including my gr tron

smackjack says... #12

Glimmervoid, but i guess you already play 4 ;). If you want more then 1-2 Adarkar Wastes would probably be the best choice..

February 15, 2015 7:19 a.m.

smackjack says... #13

.. also, one basic Island or Plains are always a good idea, since Path to Exile are a bigger thing than Sundering Titan

For robots you don't care... pretty much every affinity build should have 4 Glimmervoids, 4 Mox Opals and 3-4 Springleaf Drums. Thats 11-12 colored sources in a deck that typically doesn't play more than 8-12 spells with colors in the CMC, you shouldn't need any U/W duals.

February 15, 2015 9:24 a.m.

i wouldn't worry about Sundering Titan in either Affinity because you will win the game before they get close to casting it. No question. Adarkar Wastes is the best option, but I'd probably play a Plains over it for Path to Exile.

My comment about Titan is saying "basic lands aren't good"

February 15, 2015 10:51 a.m.

Basic lands are good. People play Path to Exile. There's a reason all Affinity decks (with small exception) play a basic.

February 15, 2015 11:02 a.m.

smackjack says... #20

Why are you worried about Sundering Titan? Tron can play him turn 4, and if someone destroys one of your lands turn 4 you should be happy thats the only thing he did that turn. You should be more worried about Path to Exile. One basic land in the deck wont stop Path, but it will hurt less if you have a land to fetch.

tyforthevenom says... #21

I already have an island running a plains is another target

February 15, 2015 1:45 p.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #22

Why are you running Dispatch anyway?

What matchups?

February 15, 2015 4:20 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #23

anything with goyf or big creatures

February 15, 2015 4:30 p.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #24

Can't you just race them? You have access to massive creatures aswell? They can't interact with Etched Champion most of the time and you can make it large with Ravager.

February 15, 2015 4:46 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #25

what massive creatures? my biggest creaure is x/x where x is the number of artifacts they didn't destroy

February 15, 2015 4:55 p.m.

I mean, Cranial Plating... You can race pretty often, especially if you've got a Vault Skirge in play. Just learn to play around the removal/hate people usually have.

February 15, 2015 5:13 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #27

i have no problem against hate or removal, i do have a problem with not drawing a flying creature and having to get past Tarmogoyf Siege Rhino Wild Nacatl Wurmcoil Engine Spellskite

February 15, 2015 5:20 p.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #28

You haave flying lands? Nacatl shouldnt be blocking aswell. and Etched is there for getting through on the ground.

February 15, 2015 5:35 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #29

Etched sucks when half my meta runs mainboard Spellskite and the other half are playing Splinter Twin

February 15, 2015 5:53 p.m.

Ok, you're right. Why do you even post if no one is ever going to be able to convince you of anything?

February 15, 2015 6:04 p.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #31

Then how is the white splash relevant? GBlast hits everything you just mentioned.

You are favoured against Twin game 1.

February 15, 2015 6:05 p.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #32

Affinity is like anty combo deck, Favoured game 1 and less game 2 should it a targetsed deck in the metagame.

February 15, 2015 6:47 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #33

You say it's favored but I'm usually only winning my FNM by a single point from creatures and I nev draw blast, when i do draw it I wish it was path coz their goyf/rhino has 5 toughtness

February 15, 2015 6:52 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #34

And GlistenerAgent I po asking about land, I coul give a damn about your opinions of my other card selections

February 15, 2015 6:54 p.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #35

You were asking about adding a land to a deck in order to cater for a card which you don't need, Affinity is a metagame deck, if it doesn't suit the metagame you don't play it and you don't do well.

I am failing to see your logic. Play Dismember if you need to kill stuff, don't go out of your way to splash a redundant colour in order to inevitably decrease the effectiveness of your deck.

And before you argue the point further ask yourself whether your side of the arguement is actually good or your just happy to have discovered something spicy, Sometimes you need to accept yoir wrong to grow from an intellectual perspective

February 15, 2015 7:08 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #36

It's hardly redundant I run white sideboard with canonist and unlike dismember and galvanic blast dispatch doesn't make goyf bigger by adding creature to the yard when it's not already there, and it's not adding a land but changing the land completely

February 16, 2015 12:19 a.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #37

Some Affinity decks run Thoughhtseize, Do they have anything other than a basic? No?

February 16, 2015 12:24 a.m.

tyforthevenom says... #38

I run a shiv an reef coz of galvanic blast and ancient grudge, no blast the reef becomes a bad mainboard card and loses value meanwhile I now have dispatch main and canonist side leaving me with a need for a white source and my primary colour is blue hence my seeking a dual land and not a bloody basic land, basic land taps for 1 colour dual land can't be tutored by path or ghost quarter but gives me my 2 mainboard colours, if you were in this situation do you honestly think running a basic plains for a single card is better than running a dual land that can pay the colour for all the mainboard cards?

February 16, 2015 12:50 a.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #39

Do you honestly think splashing an entire new colour is worth it?

Why do you refuse to accept the possibility of being wrong?

February 16, 2015 1:01 a.m.

JexInfinite says... #40

Forget adding another colour. Coloured mana is super easy for Affinity. Super easy. Don't even think about adding an 18th land.

4x Inkmoth Nexus, 4x Blinkmoth Nexus, 4x Darksteel Citadel, 4x Glimmervoid, 1x Island.

That is your mana base. Do not change it.

With 4 Mox Opal and 2 Springleaf Drum, that's 11 sources of coloured mana in the deck.

February 16, 2015 2:54 a.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #41

Prepare for an amazingly comprehensive explanation as to why you are wrong.

February 16, 2015 4:20 a.m.

tyforthevenom says... #42

my mana base is 4x Inkmoth Nexus. 4xBlinkmoth Nexus 4xDarksteel Citadel 2xGlimmervoid 1x Island and 1xShivan Reef, i now run mainboard white removal thus the reef becomes redundant as it was a multi coloured source that doesn't get sacrificed because they used Creeping Corrosion or Shatterstorm i have in no way stated i want another land, i want to change the shivan reef already in there into a land that doesn't have the clause of i lose it without any artifacts to support it, one that is the appropriate colours for my main board.
