Top Elves without Nettle

I've been noticing a lot of the top Elf decks recently have not been running Nettle Sentinel nor Shaman of the Pack and instead they run Boreal Druid and some lord combination or Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip. And these decks also don't run Chord of Calling instead they run Lead the Stampede. Is anyone else currently playing this new build? If so, how is it working out for you. Is it more consistent?

I prefer Lead the Stampede over chord myself, as it gets you back in the game when you are behind, but abhore the lack of shamans and especially Nettle Sentinels - you just do not cut sentinels ever. Duskawatch recruiter is not even an elf.

New Elves decks are sacrificing speed for card advantage. I don't like it, as I've always played Elves as a balls to the walls, all in combo deck. Playing the long game with it seems poor because there are just better decks to play the grind.

Seems very flash in the pan. As awphutt points out elves isn't suited for the long game. It's somewhat resilient to removal, but without going for a combo kill it doesn't have a lot going for it.

LtS vs. Chord has long come down to build and personal preference. Both have their merits.

One of the guys at my shop doesn't play any Nettle Sentinels, Heritage Druid, Shaman of the Pack, or Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip. He goes all-in on lords instead.

I'm not sure what his exact list is, but it's something like:

Creature (32)
4x Bramblewood Paragon
4x Dwynen's Elite
4x Elvish Archdruid
4x Elvish Mystic
2x Ezuri, Renegade Leader
4x Imperious Perfect
4x Joraga Warcaller
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Wren's Run Vanquisher

Land (20)
4x Wooded Foothills
7x Forest
4x Cavern of Souls
4x Oran-Rief, the Vastwood

Other Spells (4)
4x Collected Company
3x Lead the Stampede

It very quickly clogs up the board with 3/3 and 4/4 elves. You can pretty much ignore Wrath of God by sandbagging Collected Company and Lead the Stampede.

This is what I would play if I were to play mono-green, non-combo Elves.

A new article came out on TCG Player showing a list without Nettles. Instead it said Joraga Warcaller and Imperious Perfect. What do you think about that.
