Moden Prosperity Bloom?

Modern forum

Now I know, both Cadaverous Bloom and Squandered Resources are not modern legal, but we have both Fascination and Mind Spring to act as Prosperity. Is there any way to convert cards into mana like the days of old? Please don't suggest Inner Fire unless you have a decklist that can reasonably prove to me that it can be used in this kind of shell. Thanks!

I don't think it exists. I mean, the only other card I know like it was Mind Over Matter, and that isn't modern legal either.

I do know of a single modern l;egal way to do it, but not infinitely, Niv-Mizzet, Parun/Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Neheb, the Eternal

Jeskai Ascendancy + any creature that taps to give mana.

Thanks Boza! Unfortunately I am a Timmy at heart, and Jeskai Ascendancy already has a combo deck based around it.

Paradox Engine lists with Temple Bell and Otherworld Atlas end up being a similar deck too. Everflowing Chalice, Astral Cornucopia, Surge Node, Coretapper, Tezzeret's Gambit, and with lands a full set of Inventors' Fair, Darksteel Citadel for the ones that use Mox Opal, the occasional Buried Ruin and Academy Ruins, and blue sources.

Then there are variants with Reshape and Lotus Bloom, Whir of Invention is in some, Mind Stone/Hedron Archive in others. Even some Voltaic Key's that I have seen.

This probably isn't what you're looking for, but there's always Simian Spirit Guide.

it's no prosperity bloom, but you could try to build a Seismic Assault deck that's actually good. I think that's about as close as modern gets to the "discard your hand to fuel an OTK combo engine that wins the game" model that prosperity bloom exhibits.
Most of modern's combos involve interactions between permanents, and Seismic Assault/Lightning Storm are just about the only exceptions I can think of off the top of my head... or at least the only half decent discard OTK engines I can think of off the top of my head.

You might be able to brew up something spicy with Kindle the Carnage, Swans of Bryn Argoll, and Stuffy Doll or something jank like that. It might not be good... but it's certainly hard to interact with, and its better than nothing.

actually to add to my above comment, you don't even need stuffy doll. rulings on Kindle the Carnage state that creatures don't die till you're done iterating it, so you could get away with Boros Reckoner and some of the heaviest bricks you can find in modern such as Worldspine Wurm. Just an idea.

DuTogira Hah! Already made Kindle the Carnage/Nahiri's Wrath combo. Bout a month ago, but I didn't like the stuffy doll effects, so I cut them for Ragged Veins and somthin else.

On Seismic Assault, the jank that is Seismic Swans has already claimed the mantle of a Seismic Assault combo. I had a Auto-correct on my previous post, meant Johnny, typed T O N N Y, and auto-corrected to Timmy! LOL. Might have to try a new angle of attack on Seismic Assault though, thanks!

Oh, well, I thought you'd want to discard cards to get mana, but I guess Swans and the old Niv Mizzet/Curiosity decks or whatever work too if you just want to draw cards and deal damage.

SynergyBuild, you were correct in that assumption! Sorry if I was not clear.
