HELP - Cards that donate to the opponent from your own deck

Modern forum

I am trying to make a deck around Dubious Challenge, and I need cards that donate to the opponent that can be flickered back to me. We can just say I need a ...uh... Krosan Cloudscraper (I relize it's not modern legal, but it is a good example).

I specifically need the card to let me OR my opponent choose a creature (preferably) card and put it onto the battlefield. The cheaper the card (both mana and money) the better.

Thanks and Happy Hunting.

I can't think of anything cheaper in price and cmc than Treacherous Pit-Dweller. Maybe there is though, ask Google ;)

I hope you realize your opponent MAY choose a creature to take off of the dubious challenge, and then you HAVE to take the rest. So there is no good choice for you.

Homeward Path could be good in your deck.

Really? Well that's great then. And I have considered Homeward Path for the casual version, but are there any other cards like Challenge.

Man be aware the card is really bad because it lets your opponent choose AND he does that before you while YOU paid 4 manas and he did nothing.

I really don't see it work.

Steel Golem might be kind of thing but the fact he chooses before first is really not good I can't stress it enough :)

you don't have to choose 2. you can choose one, then he either takes it, or you get it. the important thing here is to break parity. you need to find a creature with a drawback that doesn't affect you. something like Dauntless Dourbark in a treefolk tribal deck, or some other obscure tribe could also be good, as the things they take would be much worse on their side of the field than yours.

TL;DR for dubious challenge to be workable, you need to break parity. the two best ways of doing that are by filling your deck with creatures who's downside won't affect you but will affect them, or by filling your deck with extremely synergistic creatures.

The thing about dubious challenge is that you choose a flicker card and a good card. They choose the good card and then you flicker it back to your control, or they take the flicker and get one two etb effects while you get a great card. Or use a Long Road Home type card to return it and it is more powerful.
